Is alar base reduction (and associated scars) during rhinoplasty worth the small changes I want in the t
Alar base reduction
Jun 8, 2020
Most patients do not require alar base reduction with mild tip deprojection.  It is difficult to assess if this would be necessary in you without an frontal, and ideally, a base view.  That said, there are option including a base-cinching suture that may achieve the same goal without base reduction incisions.  If they are necessary, dermabrasion afterwards in the office may eliminate any noticeable scarring.  Best of luck.
What type of procedure would remove bumps on the bridge of the nose? Am I a good candidate for rhinoplas
Bumpy nose>
May 13, 2020
The junction between your nasal bones and cartilage is wide, creating the bumps you see on the sides.  This is correctable with rhinoplasty, as are the other concerns you express.  Visit a rhinoplasty specialist (Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon) that will perform computer imaging to demonstrate what changes are reasonable to expect.  Best of luck!
Is my nose skin too thick to support additional tip projection? Non-surgical, open or closed rhinoplasty
Options for tip projection
May 29, 2019
I agree that reduction of your small dorsal hump will improve the appearance of your tip projection, but this could be further enhanced with tip cartilage grafts.  The preference of endonasal (i.e., closed), open or non-surgical rhinoplasty is really surgeon-dependent.  That said the non-surgical options are riskier in the tip area.  Your skin thickness is a little more challenging but should be manageable by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.  I would make a consultation with a Boa...
Can I do something to get the corners of my eyes raised up?
Eyelid shortened and asymmetric
Apr 10, 2019
While most patients do have some degree of facial asymmetry, this can often be improved upon (not corrected).  In your case, you have inferior scleral show of both eyes (white showing beneath the colored part), indicating lower lid retraction.  Merely repositioning the corner of the eye (canthopexy) would help, but your best bet would be to have grafting inside the lid in addition to the canthopexy.  I would  recommend seeing a Facial Plastic Surgeon or Oculoplastic Surgeon specia...
What procedures would make me look more masculine based on my pictures? Thinking about rhinoplasty, chin
Apr 5, 2019
I do not feel you lack masculinity, which is commonly associated with a strong chin/jaw, which I feel you already possess (as best as I can see).  It may be helpful to undergo computer imaging to see the potential changes achievable with rhinoplasty.  While we may disagree on the descriptive terms (young, masculine, etc.) it may turn out you and your surgeon agree on the desired outcome.  As always, it is vitally important you assess why you want to undergo these procedures.  To think a surg...
What can I improve on my face? I would like to get a nose job.
consultation would be key
Apr 5, 2019
Hi Ibtown,I think your best bet would be sit down with a Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon experiencd in injectable filler treatment and rhinoplasty.  You may benefit from a number of non-surgical and/or surgical procedures but would feel better about making recommendations after discussing your concerns, motivation, etc.  Then, a plan for treatment can be made, possibly including rhinoplasty.Best of luck.
im 1 week and 5 days post op, i have been crying since cast of day my nose looks disgusting - What shoul
Apr 5, 2019
Oyatanya,I tell my patients they are all going to hate their nose at first,
second guess their decision, etc. (they don't always, just want to make
sure they are prepared) due to swelling.  I tell them to not even consider the long-term
outcome for 2-4 weeks.  That said, I don't take photos until 3 months.
Then I also take them at 6, 9 and 12 months.  Why?
Because it keeps changing that whole time (and possibly after).  To be concerned this early is extremely premature.  Discuss your c...
Do I need a mini lift and eye bag surgery, and possibly a nose job?
Eyes and nose?
Apr 5, 2019
Eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty are commonly performed together.  Briefly, although limited by the lack of a physical exam, it appears you have some loss of volume to the upper cheek/tear trough as well as some "eye bags" caused by fat pushing out from around the eye.  There are many options to treat this although with varying results.  My recommendation would be either volume alone with fat transfer/or fillers versus a combination of volume with lower eyelid surgery.  The latter, alt...
Do I have epicanthus fold and is it posible to remove this with a nose bridge augmention?
yes and no
Apr 5, 2019
Unfortunately, no enhancing your bridge is not likely to change the appearance of your epicanthal folds.  However, providing more shadowing along the sides of the bridge may help the overall appearance as it will allow for a less "flattened" look.  I would make sure you consult with a surgeon comfortable and experienced with rib cartilage grafting so you can discuss all options available to you.
Will I be able to make changes or go over pictures again in a preoperative appointment for rhinoplasty?
Pre-op photos
Apr 5, 2019
It is very reasonable to expect to sit down with your surgeon prior to surgery as many times as necessary to be comfortable moving forward. However, as to the question of your post operative outcome--while it is helpful to look at computer imaged photos, this is not a guarantee of outcome. I tell my patients that the computer imaging is not a 3-D printer and the images are merely a communication tool so that we can understand each others concerns and expectations. I think that is the proper...
How much would a surgical nose job cost considering I want to raise the tip and change the bridge to a b
Button nose
Apr 5, 2019
Although there is a muscle that contributes to the depression of the tip of your nose, the shape of the cartilages that make up the tip of the nose and their stability is likely the main cause of your concerns.  While cost is certainly understandable, I would counsel you to research carefully for an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon that you feel comfortable proceeding with.  Avoid Plastic Surgeons that emphasize other procedures as dedication to rhinoplasty is necessary to obtain competence o...
Uneven nostrils and high tip, almost six weeks after rhinoplasty. Will it drop?
Rhinoplasty is a 4 Dimensional Surgery
Apr 5, 2019
Hello Ivy128,Although I counsel all patients about their expected timeline, it is natural for patients to have some anxiety about their final outcome early in the post-operative period, as you are.  That said, the remaining post-surgical changes really depend on the 4th dimension, time, as well as the actual surgical techniques performed.  Therefore, your surgeon is really the best one to ask.  At times, patients may perform compression or reshaping exercises that may hasten recovery, but I ...
Is there any form of rhinoplasty that can make the tip of the nose less bulbous?
Tip changes
Apr 5, 2019
Hi Ant,Changes to the tip of a nose involves changing the shape and/or size of the cartilage that make up the tip and making those changes with your skin thickness in mind as well.  An experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon that is Board Certified in Facial Plastic Surgery offers expertise in both form and function of your nose and should be able to help.  I would make sure their practice focuses on this procedure specifically (as opposed to mostly Breast implantation/facelifts, etc.) and the d...
Too much fat in my marionette lines (jowls) ... What if I start smoking?
too early to say
Apr 5, 2019
At a little over 2months post-op, it is likely too early to tell how much over-correction may/may not have occurred.  The amount you mention is reasonable and I would just give it some more time.  Without the benefit of previous exam/photos, it is difficult to say for sure, but I think you still have a good chance of  a nice outcome.  Best of luck. And definitely not to smoking!
How soon can I get a surgical rhinoplasty after getting a nonsurgical one? Do I have to wait for the fil
filler before rhinoplasty
Sep 4, 2018
I actually operated on a patient with this exact issue last week and we discussed hyaluronidase injection prior to surgery versus observation.  With reviewing her pre-injection photos along with preoperative and intraoperative palpation of her soft tissue vs. bony anatomy we were able to provide what I hope will be an excellent result.  That said, I would argue the hump is not an isolated issue in your nose and you should consult with an experienced rhinopasty surgeon, whether that be a B...
