What can I do to lessen the asymmetry in my eye/eyelid?
You don’t need surgery
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
I don’t think you have lid ptosis and I don’t think you need surgery. The asymmetry is very slight and is due to the fact that your left brow is higher which in turn raises your left upper lid crease slightly which give you more eyelid show on the left. It is very subtle, but there. The correction is also very subtle, but would involve a very small degree of botox just above your left brow to drop it a little, or some botox on the right side to raise it a little. You need to find someome who…
One Eye Bigger Than the Other?
Asymmetric eyes
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
First off, asymmetry if very common and mild degrees of asymmetry is normal. However, if you think the appearance of your eyes are CHANGING, you should have an eye exam as it could be one of the following reasons:1- Eyelid malposition: sometimes one eyelid can droop or become retracted depending on the underlying cause 2- Globe malposition: the eye can become bulgy in certain eye conditions (eg. Graves) or retracted in other conditions (eye socket enlargement)
Laser Blepharoplasty Vs. Surgery
Laser vs Scalpel Blepharoplasty
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
A Co2 laser can be used to make a skin incision like a scalpel. The main advantage is that it cauterizes as it cuts so it minimizes bleeding. So ultimately you may get less swelling and quicker recovery with the co2 laser.
In terms of final healing however, I don’t think there is much difference between laser vs scalpel blepharoplasty. Both can give excellent results, it just depends which tool your surgeon is most comfortable with.

Browlift vs. Blepharoplasty – Which is Best for Sagging Eyelids?
Brow lift and upper blepharoplasty can both correct sagging eyelids
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
The short answer is that both can correct sagging upper lids.
If the brow position is low, it can definitely affect the amount of skin that shows on the upper lids. Typically for men, the brow should sit at the superior orbital rim (brow bone). In women, an aesthetically pleasing brow arches upwards above the orbital rim as you move outwards (lateral brow). When the brow drops below this level, then consider a brow lift.

Best Procedure to Remove Dark Circles and Under Eye Hollows?
Short and honest answer: You can’t really remove dark circles
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
The short and honest answer: You can’t really remove dark circles. But don’t get disappointed, because there are ways of treating dark circles so they become much less noticeable. But first before treating dark circles you need to know what you are treating.
1. Hollowing: some people have true under eye hollows loss of fat (atrophy) or enlargement of their eye socket over time. This can contribute to the appearance of dark circles because of shadowing effects. The best way and probably…

How Much Does a Lower Eye Lift Cost?
Depends on where and who is doing your surgery
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
The cost of any cosmetic procedure depends on the city you live in and the expertise of the person who is doing the work. For example in Canada, there may be several thousand general plastic surgeons and only several hundred facial plastic surgeons. Oculoplastic surgery is a subspecialty area that only deals with plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids. In Canada, we only have about 50 oculoplastic surgeons, of which only about handful do cosmetic eyelid surgery regularly. For…
How Can I Fix One Drooping Eye?
You most likely need a lid lift (ptosis repair)
Feb 15, 2021
Feb 15, 2021
There are many reasons for uneven eyelids from uneven excess skin to uneven brow position, but when I hear a patient say my eyes were not always even and then become more uneven after wearing contact lenses, 9 out of 10 times it’s because of lid ptosis.
What happens with some contact lens users is that the contact lens rubs against the back surface of the upper eyelids causing inflammation which then causes the eyelid muscle to slip off it’s normal attachment. The solution to do a small…
