Good question - no evidence based (factual) answers. It is thought that cold compresses constrict (squeeze closed) blood vessels immediately after surgery to reduce swelling. After a few days using warm compresses to do the opposite (open vessels to suck in fluid) may help. It is best o do what your surgeon suggests based on their experience. Certainly no harm comes from this. Is it a benefit - maybe??

So a laser can be used like a knife blade (scalpel) or scissors to make an incision and do surgery. In the end the result is the same - the recovery may be quicker with a laser. A laser can also be used to improve the texture, quality and "tightness of the skin". This is called skin resurfacing. Sometimes both procedures are needed.
