It appears you have very large pores that could be contributing to your concerns about your skin. There is no laxity in the skin, which is not surprising at your age. I would recommend medical grade skin care with tretinoin/Retin-A and a laser resurfacing. The combination of those 2 treatments would greatly improve you skin texture.

The picture is not great but I think I see what you are referring to. It appears that you have a more prominent depression just right of the chin. This is called the prejowl sulcus. Post-op: Are gum recession and infection common consequences of a dental implant surgery?

If you have an infection you should follow up with your dentist, periodontist or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Infection can lead to recession of the gums and loss of bone. This does not sound like malpractice though.Landon McLain MD, DMD Huntsville, AL

At 1 week there should be a fair amount of swelling remaining. I have found that it really takes 2-3 weeks for the majority of swelling to recede. Numbness to the lip this early is also not uncommon.
