High Myopia
Oct 14, 2016
-14 is a very high degree of Myopia/nearsightedness.

Several other factors will determine if you can have a laser vision correction procedure, most likely NOT LASIK but a non-flap, surface procedure such as PRK: corneal thickness, corneal curvature, topography, and more.

Other options may be available such as ICL - intraocular collagen/contact lens implant, and clear leans extraction and replacement with IOL.

Best wishes,

Dr. Saimovici

LASIK vs PRK, thin corneas
Oct 11, 2016
It is likely that you are a candidate for a "surface " procedure ONLY, the determining factor being the cornea topography, which I would be happy to review. PRK is the most common no-flap procedure. LASEK is a slight variation of PRK that only increases the recovery time.
Is there a solution to my constant eye pain from LASIK?
LASIK, dry eyes, pain
Aug 20, 2016
Sorry to hear about your problems. There are many possible explanations for the symptoms that you are experiencing. Many of them having nothing to do with LASIK.I suggest you visit an ophthalmologist, preferably one that specializes in cornea and also does LASIK, as not all do. Since this is a "medical" problem your visit should be covered by your health insurance, a vision plan is not needed or necessary.Best wishes,Dr. Saimovici
Am I eligible for Lazio or Femto lasik.
LASIK vs PRK, thin corneas
Aug 13, 2016
Based on corneal thickness ALONE, you may be eligible for a laser vision correction ON THE SURFACE of the cornea, NOT LASIK OF ANY KIND! PRK would be such a procedure. Again, corneal thickness is just one deciding factor. I can not tell about your topography from what you sent me. Best wishes! Dr Saimovici
Will laser eye surgery help me?
LASIK, EYE damage
Aug 13, 2016
Sorry to hear about yourdamaged eye. I don't know how you are NOW, but your other eye may be getting worse for different reasons, NOT because it is overwhelmed. If you your other eye is healthy and it stops changing for at least a year then you may consider PRK, a form of Laser vision correction that is extremely safe, possibly safer than wearing contact lenses. Best wishes! Dr Saimovici
Will neovascularization (contact lenses) in white part of eye heal? Am I able to do LASIK?
LASIK, Neovascularization, cornea
Aug 13, 2016
The simple answer is that what you call blood vessels on the white of the eye will most likely not interfere with laser vision correction. However, I am concerned that those engorged blood vessels may have a different etiology, cause, such as episcleritis. And I said laser vision correction because of those engorged blood vessels making it difficult to create the suction needed for the flap creation with or without a blade. Besides PRK is overall a SAFER procedure ...

Dear Kanika,Happy to hear that you are getting married! It is a good idea to have a laser vision correction procedure well in advance of your wedding: as luck would have it a lost contact or a red eye from consonants over worn in the frenzy of pre wedding activities may ruin the day.I presume that you are over 20, again it is a presumption, not a requirement. In general by this time one's eyes have stabilized and and therefore there is no reason to wait. Furthermore, if you have PRK,...
