Answer Snippet
I have some yellowish things in my wisdom tooth surgery site. Do I have dry socket?
No Dry Socket
Aug 8, 2014
The simple answer is no. The third molar area you have on photograph most likely represents a mixture or healing tissue, blood clot and possible food debris. Dry socket is ussually with progressive pain that continues to worrsen as several days pass. Having pain while biting hard is normal for recovery.
Problems with dental implants. The bottom ones move, and cause pain. Can I have them fixed?
Loose Implang
Apr 29, 2014
I would see your restorative dentist as soon as possible. A loose implant can be either the connection between the crown and implant is loose and the crown is pinching your gums or the actual implant may be loose and needs to be removed and redone.
Dental Implants Recovery Time
Dental Implant Recovery Time
Mar 20, 2014
Dental implant recovery depends on the type of procedure you will be having. In general, Dental Implant Recovery and Down Time is minimal. If your procedure is a straight forward implant, you should expect minimal down time and recovery. Most patients can have the procedure done and be back to work the next day. Eating after a dental implant is pretty much returned to normal after a day. If your implant was placed with a healing cap or crown on it the same…
What do I do for my 6 year old who has lost his front permanent tooth?
Tooth Loss.
Jan 24, 2014
I am sorry to hear about your child. This is something that routinely presents itself in a oral surgeons office. Since the tooth is not in the socket, your child will have bone loss in the future. There is nothing that can be done to prevent this from occurring. You are going to have to wait till she is 18 or stops growing to place a permanent restorative solution. One positive note, medicine is always dynamically changing with new approaches and techniques to…
Not enough bone in the front of my jaw under the nose, are implants impossible?
Not Enough Bone
Jan 13, 2014
1mm of bone is very minimal bone. Grafting in that area will not take. There are plenty of procedures and treatment plans that can be done. It’s the cost that will get you. The question is where is the 1mm bone, how long a span and is there any bone in the posterior. You may be a good canidate for a zygomatic implant as well.
I only have one upper molar on me left side and I’m about to get my 2 upper molars on my right sid
Missing Molars
Dec 20, 2013
I believe you are on the right treatment plan. I would be more concerned if you were missing all your molars on top and no plan to restore them. You stated you are going to have implants placed. The time frame with missing teeth will be a little annoying for you, but you will be just fine. The implant on #14 will be strong enough to take on you occlusion for the time till your other implant are placed and crowns are placed on..
Is There and Implant System Best Suited for Patients with Limited Mouth Opening?
Implant System
Oct 17, 2013
BridgetteYou need to find a specialist who places Nobel Biocare. They are able to be placed into area with minimal height. Guided surgery will not help, it only add more height into the surgery. (10mm more height needed for the drills). Also, make sure you have enough height to restore the implant as well.Dr. Rega
