Age 44, would upper blepharoplasty help with my excess eyelid skin?
? Upper Blepharoplasty
Feb 7, 2023
From the pictures you appear to be an excellent candidate for an upper blepharoplasty. You appear to have significant excess skin even with the eyes closed, a usual indicator of a reasonable outcome. Make sure you see someone who specializes in rejuvenation of this area and has extensive experience.
What are realistic post-op care expectations following eyelid surgery for skin cancer & reconstr
Treatment of Lower Eyelid Skin Cancer
Feb 7, 2023
It is impossible to comment intelligently on what you have been told by whoever you spoke to except to say that reconstruction of the lower eyelid takes significant expertise in the surgery and, occasionally, the post operative care so you need to make sure that the surgeon will be available postoperatively. I prefer a Moh’s surgeon to remove the lesion so it can be done with the smallest margin possible. You then need a plastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon to reconstruct, though there are…
Is it normal for a doctor to keep a consultation fee for a consult that never happened?
Non-refundable Consultation Fee
Feb 2, 2023
Medicine is a business. The product, especially for a consultation, is time and expertise. If you cancel the consultation close enough to the scheduled time that it is impossible to fill the slot, then you have actually used the consultation time, whether or not you actually did the consultation. Therefore you owe for what you used.
How many sessions of carbon laser peel do you typically need to see improvements with acne and c
Results After CO2 Laser “Peel”
Jan 23, 2023
Although you can do a superficial “peel” using a CO2 Laser, the most common, especially for acne scars, is a leveling peel that takes off all the epidermis and about half the dermis. The superficial ones rarely do anything for acne scars whereas the leveling ones do an excellent job and it only has to be done once. Another option is a CO2 Laser that is modified to what is called Fraxal laser. This simply pokes holes in the shin. It, or its equivalent, micro needling, cause production of col…
Botox is not helping to minimize the appearance of crows feet – is this common with aging?
Botox not Helping Crow’s Feet
Jan 19, 2023
Botox is just one modality in improving your appearance. It reduces the formation of wrinkles caused by muscle action. Once you have static wrinkles, all it does is help prevent others, but will do nothing for those already there. In addition to Botox, you need to be using tretinoin and Obagi’s ELASTIderm regularly with your skin care to stimulate collagen and elastic tissue. Once on these, you can add micro needling or Fraxal laser to further stimulate collagen . You can also inject the w…
Help! I hate my eye bags, which procedure do you recommend?
Procedure for Eye Bags?
Jan 17, 2023
You have, from the pictures, what appear to be classic tear trough deformities. If so, these are easily treated by filling deep on the bone or muscle under the orbital ligament. Unfortunately, a great majority of injectors will treat this with a lighter filler, superficially above the ligament. This method has a high complication rate and is one of the main reason so many people wind up having their filler dissolved. Also unfortunately, the correct filler is more expensive. This should take…
Researching lipo for abdomen & flanks (want smoothest results) – what do you recommend?
Type of Liposuction
Jan 17, 2023
You are asking the wrong question. The correct question is who should do your liposuction. Expert surgeons can get the same excellent results with whatever method with which they are comfortable and that method is very secondary to the expertise of the surgeon. One of the largest problems with liposuction is that a very large number of the people doing it are poorly or minimally trained. Therefore, be very careful who you choose to do your surgery and accept whatever method they use.
Brow lift or blepharoplasty to help me get more awake-looking eyes?
More Awake-Looking Eyes
Jan 17, 2023
What you have is upper eyelid ptosis (droop). Treatment is a specialized “blepharoplasty” that shortens the muscle that elevates the eyelid. Make sure you see a plastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon who specializes in treating ptosis.
Looking worse 8 months after lower eyelid surgery. How could this be fixed?
Problems after Lower Blepharoplasty
Jan 15, 2023
Unfortunately, your problem is very common. Your problem initially was volume loss. You got some improvement by tightening the skin and, probably, rolling the orbital fat over the orbital rim to fill inferiorly. I tell everyone I do a lower blepharoplasty on that they may need filler or fat in the under eye area after the surgery, depending on how much the above maneuvers correct. I prefer not to do it at the time of surgery, but many good surgeons do both at the same time. In you, I would…
Ellacor with Severe Acne Scarring?
Treatment of Severe Acne Scarring
Jan 15, 2023
Yes Ellacor will help your acne scaring as will microneedling or Fraxal laser. Of the 3, microneedling is usually the least expensive. No matter what you do, however, you need to be on tretinoin (Retin-A) in order to start the body making collagen in the dermis. Once you have been on the tretinoin for 4-6 weeks, at least, you can do a series of one of the above at least 4-6 weeks apart. This should markedly improve the scarring over about a year, and may eliminate most of it in 2-3 years….
Hyaluronidase on encapsulated fillers?
Hyaluronidase on Encapsulated Fillers
Jan 15, 2023
I am not sure where you got your information, but there are 2 glaring misconceptions in your question. First, there is no way to prevent hyaluronidase from affecting your native hyaluronic acid. However, that effect merely allows the product to spread further by lysing the structure holding cells together. It does nor affect your collagen or other skin or soft tissue structures. All other hyaluronic acid is converted into collagen or elastin, etc. which is not affected by the hyaluronidase….
Would a blepharoplasty in my 20s cause future complications? Can asymmetrical eyelids be treated
Eyelid Asymmetry
Jan 12, 2023
Even though you have no vision problems, you do have ptosis. That is what is causing the asymmetry. See a plastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon who is an expert in treating this. See the last example in the web reference.
Age 21, is it possible to pair lower blepharoplasty with brow lift & nose job?
Rhinoplasty with Treatment of Lower Eyelids and Brow
Jan 10, 2023
I will divide my comments into several sections. First, you need to make absolutely certain that who you see for your revision rhinoplasty is an absolute expert and does almost exclusively rhinoplasties. This is because both your nose as it presently is as well it is the fact that any secondary rhinoplasty is exceptionally difficult. If you do not choose your surgeon very carefully, you could regret whatever you do significantly. secondly, from the pictures, you do not appear to be a…
Age 20, what would make my eyes look more beautiful?
Treatment of Asymmetrical Eyes
Jan 10, 2023
Your problem is upper eyelid ptosis. What you need to do is see a plastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon experienced in treating this. See the last example in the attached web reference.
Is there more Restylane to dissolve or is this a malar bag?
Puffiness after Dissolved Restylane
Jan 10, 2023
What you have has nothing to do with the Restylane you had injected eight years ago. It is simply from changes that occur with time and with your normal anatomy. What you presently need is further injection in the area by a true expert, not someone who uses Restylane in the area and put it superficial in order to create a Tyndall effect. What you need is a filler like in Juvederm Voluma or Radiesse placed deep on the muscle below the orbital ligament.
