A minilift is a great option for patients who are starting
to see early signs of jowl formation. It is primarily intended to improve the
lower third of the face with improvement of the jawline. It generally does not
improve the appearance of the nasolabial folds or the smile lines. Those are
areas that are better served with volume augmentation, such as with filler or
fat grafting.

Without examining you, it is difficult to say whether you
would be an ideal candidate for a minilift. However, a minilift is a great
option for patients who are starting to see early signs of jowl formation and
that the jawline does not look as smooth. A minilift can lift the excess skin of the
jowls back up and give the appearance of a tighter jawline. It does not help to
improve the neck, so if that is a concern, then I would advise against a
minilft.

As long as the parotid tumor is benign, it is possible to
undergo a partial parotidectomy and a minilift during the same procedure. In
most cases, the procedures would be performed by 2 different surgeons. An otolaryngologist/ENT/Head & Neck
Surgeon would perform the parotidectomy and a facial plastic surgeon or facial

In my practice, we apply numbing cream to the area to be
treated for 45 minutes prior to a Venus Viva treatment, and have found that patients have
done really well. We do offer local anesthetic injections if a patient is going
to have a more aggressive treatment. However, most patients do well with the
topical anesthetic/numbing cream alone.

Venus Viva is a great option to treat skin damaged by chronic
and long-term sun exposure! In a series of treatments, it works particularly
well to improve skin quality and texture, of the face, neck and chest, such as
in your case. It can be performed as a stand-alone procedure, or in combination
with PRP (platelet rich plasma) or even some minimal laser treatments. There is
a about 2-4 days of downtime depending on the area of the body treated, and
makeup can be used 2 days after treatment.

scars if used 24 hours a day for at least 12 weeks. It is usually safe to use
the silicone scar sheets once the incisions are fully healed and without any
evidence of scabs. Usually 2 weeks is sufficient to ensure that the incisions
are healed and start using the strips. However, I would check with your surgeon
to see about her/his preference as to when to start using these strips. In

There have not been any studies that prove that Facial Microcurrent
treatments lead to long-term (more than a few months) tightening or lifting of
skin or muscles. For this reason alone, it is not comparable to a facelift.
Many people enjoy microcurrent facials because it can provide some temporary
improvement in skin quality, so it is great in a series of treatments before a

I usually recommend that patients that are “realistically”
planning on losing more than 15lbs of weight loss, undergo the weight loss,

It’s not unusual to have swelling, lumps and bumps this early on after surgery. I would continue to observe and let your surgeon know your concerns. With your surgeon’s permission, you can gently massage under the chin to help soften the lumps, but they generally resolve on their own. It is important to keep the area clean and administer local wound care with the use of an antibiotic cream (as long as you don’t have any allergies) until you can be assessed by a medical professional.
