Nose/facial asymmetry – will rhinoplasty help?
List you priorities
Dec 5, 2020
Hi There, I can see the facial asymmetry and even though the nose appears displaced, the problem is not the nose, but the face itself. Trying to reposition your nose on the face could make matters worse.Facial symmetry could be improved both surgically or non-surgically with facial filler or fat grafting. The nose should can definitely be reshaped and refined but will not improve facial symmetry. The best thing is to have an assessment and discuss possible results and limitations.
7 months post rhinoplasty, damage/swelling still possible?
Nasal wash
Dec 5, 2020
Hi There, nasal swelling after rhinoplasty can take a long time to completely subside, especially on the nasal tip, it can take 12 – 18 months. Please stop picking your nose. It is possible to cause damage, even infection. You can wash you nose with saline twice a day if it is dry and crusty. Better to see you doctor.
I am wondering why exactly a collapsed nasal valve (internal) causes nasal dryness a
Two separate problems
Dec 5, 2020
Hi There, it seems like you have two separate problems.A collapsed internal valve (upper lateral cartilage) will reduce the air way size and, therefore, reduce the air flow, especially during inspiration (breathing in). There are many causes for a dry nose such as environment (dry air), smoking, medications (nasal drops), lack of nasal humidification (small turbinates), etc…
Too much skin on nose for rhinoplasty?
Tension nose
Dec 5, 2020
Hi There, it seems like you have a tension nose and the cartilage overgrowth may have stretched the skin. As long as you are not a smoker and does not have other medical conditions that may impair healing, you should heal just fine.Hard to assess your skin over a photograph. Thick skin on the nasal tip may add to the bulk and may limit how much more refined the tip can be made. The best thing is to come for an assessment and have specialist advice.
Would I benefit from buccal fat reduction, chin filler, or masseter botox?
Restore your image
Dec 4, 2020
Yes, buccal fat pad removal may help. However, there are many other points to consider during the facial assessment. There seems to be other factors in play, such as fat displacement and fat loss in some areas. Has your weight changed? That could have added fat in unwanted areas, making your face more round. So, I would be looking at a combination of treatments such as liposuction, fat grafting, fat trimming, etc…no facelift for you, still too young for that. A full facial assessment and…
What’s the procedure for me ” canthoplasty or canthopexy?
“Lost in translation”
Dec 4, 2020
Hi There, I would not worry to much about the name of the procedure. Even though they are slightly different, they are used interchangeably. What you need is to see an experienced Plastic Surgeon in peri orbital rejuvenation / eyelid surgery. Tightening the eyelid will help, but you may benefit from volume reposition with fat grafting too.
