After rhinoplasty the nose undergoes a number of changes as edema exits the tissues. Swelling can push the tip up and so it will likely rotate downward as the tissues heal. I typically see my rhinoplasty patients very frequently in the first few weeks to help guide them through the early healing process, and sometimes recommend massage, injections or other interventions to help proactively guide healing. There is...

Chronological age shouldn’t prevent someone from undergoing a procedure for something they would like corrected if their general health is good. Additionally, there are a variety options for improving neck contour, many of which do not require anesthesia (the largest source of risk). I would recommend consultation with a surgeon who focus on facial rejuvenation to go over your goals, the available options and t...

After rhinoplasty, our office typically recommends use of nasal saline spray to help with nasal dryness. Also, we recommend dilute hydrogen peroxide on q-tips to help clean off nasal scabs. However, every surgeon has a different post-operative care regimen and I would recommend contacting your surgeon's office to help you answer your questions.
Good luck!

Generally for cosmetic surgery, most surgeons will try to reduce the risk of complications by having a patient stop their anticoagulation in collaboration with the provider who is prescribing those medications. This would obviously be contingent on whether the patient could come off of the medication or not. Surgery on the eyelids can result in a number of complications and bleeding is a very significant one. I would...

Every patient is different with regard to their post-operative experience with pain and discomfort. Most of my patients express that they have some discomfort for the first 2-3 days after surgery but it is much better after that. We will often utilize splints in the nose to help with intranasal swelling after surgery and that can help keep the nasal passageway open after surgery for breathing. It will typically become stuffy during the...

Following rhinoplasty there can be areas of irregular swelling. Sometimes it requires injections of steroid, massage or other techniques to help improve the area. The nose will significantly change with time, and that area will likely change. I would recommend close follow up with your rhinoplasty surgeon who can help guide your recovery.
Good luck!

Obtaining a rhinoplasty is a personal decision as it is an elective procedure. If you have an area that you are concerned about, I would recommend consulting with a rhinoplasty surgeon who can examine your nose and also perform image simulations of what is possible with rhinoplasty. This can help you determine if rhinoplasty is something that you are interested in.
Good luck!

Healing following rhinoplasty does take a long time for your true result to be seen. There can also be irregularities between the sides based on bruising under the skin or other smaller factors. Sometimes massage or steroid injections are utilized to help with the healing process. I would recommend discussing your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon who can help guide you through the long healing process.
Good luck!

Depending on several factors, including the nasal skin envelope and the nasal anatomy, there can be significant swelling after rhinoplasty that may significantly distort the nasal form for a period of time until things start to come down. This can be different for each patient. Typically a large amount of the swelling reduces in 3-4 months. I would discuss your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon and...

The nose will change significantly from the frontal view with time after rhinoplasty. Following removal of the cast, the side view is often closer to the longer term result, but the swelling of the tip and bridge in the frontal view can take a long time to reduce. I would recommend discussing your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon.

Functional nasal surgery is very symptom based. Opening the nasal passageways to help improve airflow may improve your congestion but likely will not make a difference in Post-nasal drip. Receiving a second opinion from another surgeon who can examine your nose and discuss your symptoms can also be very helpful. With these types of problems, it is usually a patient driven decision to move forward with surgery...

For your nose, a rhinoplasty can be performed to help narrow the tip and overall bring down the overall size.
For your eyes and jawline, neuromodulators and filler can be used to help alter these items as well.
I would recommend consulting with a surgeon who specializes in these procedure and can examine you and discuss your options.
Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience! It does look as though you have some remnant jowling and persistent lines around your mouth. There are non-invasive or minimally-invasive options, such as FaceTite, but a revision deep plane facelift and necklift with corset platysmplasty along with skin resurfacing may be your best option for revision and eradication of these problem areas. I would recommend a consult...

The results that you are interested in and have simulated in the images above are certainly possible. Typically the roundness of the nose is caused by wide nasal cartilages which are also broad at the tip. Trimming some of that cartilage with what is called a cephalic trim and narrowing the tip with some suture maneuvers would bring your tip into harmony with the rest of the nose. It does look like you may have narrowed the base of the...
