Which eyelid treatment would you recommend?
Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty
Mar 15, 2021
Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, your lower eyelids have “bags” which are due to excess fat protruding out from under the skin. A Lower Blepharoplasty can remove the excess fat and skin, improving your lower eyelid contour. In addition, I would recommend a lateral canthopexy procedure to support the lower eyelid to prevent an ectropion (ie. when the lower eyelid is too loose and pulls away, causing inadequate contact with the eyeball). You also may benefit from fat tra…
Should I get double eyelid surgery in one eye or both? And are permanent stitches normal for doub
Double Eyelid Surgery
Mar 13, 2021
Thank you for your questions. Based on your photos, your eyes appear asymmetric, with only your left eye having an existing double eyelid. I would recommend having surgery done on both eyes to create symmetric double eyelid creases. Two main methods exist to create a double eyelid crease: suture technique and full incision technique. In the suture technique, a very fine suture is placed within the eyelid to create the double eyelid crease. In the incisional technique, a full incision is…
Can this much eye asymmetry be fixed?
Ptosis Correction
Mar 12, 2021
Thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, your right upper eyelid appears heavier than your left upper eyelid. Your eyelid asymmetry may be due to a condition called ptosis or weakening of the eye muscle. Ptosis can affect your ability to open your eye in the vertical dimension and can typically be surgically corrected. I would recommend seeing a Board Certified Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon to evaluate your eyes to determine the best treatment.
When can I consider getting a revision double eyelid surgery?
Upper Blepharoplasty
Mar 10, 2021
Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, your eyelids are still swollen. I advise waiting at least 6 months for all the swelling to completely resolve before undergoing any revision surgery. I recommend seeing a Board Certified Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon to evaluate your eyelids and determine the best treatment to meet your aesthetic goals.
Double eyelid suture method not satisfactory and want a reversal. What can I do to reverse it? (P
Reevaluation before Revision Upper Blepharoplasty
Feb 16, 2021
Thank you for your question. It is possible to revise your eyelids if needed, however, given it has only been one month since your surgery, I recommend waiting at least 3-6 months for all the swelling to resolve and reevaluating your eyelids first before deciding to undergo revision surgery. I recommend seeing a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in Asian Upper Blepharoplasty to evaluate your eyes.
Asian double eyelid surgery for natural almond shape?
Upper Blepharoplasty and Medial Epicanthoplasty
Feb 16, 2021
Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, you have some excess upper eyelid skin that is causing some heaviness or hooding of your upper eyelid, especially laterally (on the side). The extra fold at the inner corner is due to your double eyelid crease starting above the medial epicanthal fold (crescent shaped skin at the inner corner of the eye). To elongate the eye and address the extra fold, you can consider a medial epicanthoplasty to adjust the inner corner shape and open up the…
Upper eyelid skin constantly changing shape
Upper Blepharoplasty
Feb 15, 2021
Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, your upper eyelid crease does not appear to be secure as it changes throughout the day. You would benefit from a formal Upper Blepharoplasty surgery to create a more defined upper eyelid crease. I recommend you see a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in Asian Upper Blepharoplasty to evaluate your eyelids.
