How to get rid of the fat under my chin without having saggy skin?
Loose neck skin and subental fat
Jun 18, 2019
Hi Mia, thanks for your question, it is a common one.  There are a range of options for neck skin and fat ranging from noninvasive to more invasive.  The most noninvasive option is Kybella, which is an injections of a fat dissolving enzyme in a series of treatment which will remove the fat and give some mild skin tightening, though it is not specifically for loose skin, just fat.  Other noninvasive options would include devices like cool sculpting, which also will not make a huge di...
Can temporary nose fillers give a permanent effect?
rhinoplasty filler
Jun 16, 2019
The answer to your question is yes, you can some fibrosis in the area of a temporary filler that may be permanent.  There are inherent risks of filler in the nose, infection, blindness, vascular occlusion and skin slough which are rare but obviously severe.  You risk, having a silicone implant is elevate specifically for infection as the introduction of filler could cause infection of your implant.  I not reccommend going the filler route, but if you do proceed with caution.
Is there a difference in scarring using 1 week fast dissolving sutures vs. non-dissolvable to close t
sutures
Jun 12, 2019
Generally nondissolvable sutures will leave a nice scar as the dissolvable sutures do so by inciting the body's inflammatory response to dissolve, the less inflammatory reaction the better the scar.
Is this a Pollybeak Deformity?
Polybeak?
Jun 9, 2019
While this is not necessarily a polybeak, you do appear to have some residual dorsal excess.  This is possibly swelling that may resolve with more time but may be some residual cartilage that would need to be "touched-up", if it does not resolve.  A poly beak would be fullness which meshes with the tip in the supra tip area.  I would keep good followup with your surgeon and await for the best time to consider revision, which should be able to be done in the office.  Best of luck!
Donated rib cartilage vs my own rib cartilage for Asian rhino?
rib cartilage
Jun 4, 2019
There are 2 schools of though when it comes to rib cartilage.  On is that your own tissue is best and more long lasting and the cadveric rib is more prone to absorbing.  There are also some long term studies showing the efficacy and reliability of cadaveric rib.  In my mind either of these is a better option than a synthetic implant.  Synthetics have been used with success as well, but I feel that anything synthetic has a higher infection, capsular contracture and extrusion rate than rib car...
Is a rib cartilage rhinoplasty hard to revise or remove after 1 year?
rib cartilage revision
Jun 3, 2019
Thanks for your question.  Revision rhinoplasty is more challenging than primary rhinoplasty in general, the removal of cartilage itself is no particularly difficult, although repairing the issue you are having may be.  See someone who is experienced with revision rhinoplasty.  Best of luck!
Flat midface! What treatment would you advise?
cheek volumization
May 31, 2019
Hello, thanks for your question, cheeks can be augmented with filler whether it be fat, synthetic fillers or implants.  If you require a mild augmentation, I think synthetic filler works nicely, can be done in the office with little discomfort/ downtime.  For more significant volumization, I think fat is better as it does not give the "puffy" look you can get from large amounts of hyaluronic acid fillers.  Cheek implants are also and option.  An in person evaluation would be best to dete...
4 months post septorhinoplasty - big bump, overprojected tip and uneven nostrils. Do I need a revisio
Revision rhinoplasty
May 21, 2019
I agree with your assessment of your nose.  It appears that you may need to consider a revision, although it is a bit early now.  The issues you have pointed out may not improve in a years time and may require more surgery but would wait the full year.  I would suggest speaking to your primary surgeon to address these issues if you are still comfortable with him/her.  The cost would likely be nothing or less with your primary surgeon but would go to someone who is experienced with rev...
Do I need surgery for this bump that is growing back 10 months post-op?
bump on nose
May 14, 2019
Sorry to hear about your issue, the good new is that it should not be a major one.  It is not uncommon for a little hump to show up a few months later whether it is a result of swelling going down around the hump or a "callous" of bone from the previous trauma from the surgery.  In either case this can usually corrected in the office under local anesthesia.  Best of luck!
I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty. Can this be fixed?
Can this be fixed
Apr 24, 2019
I think that a revision is definitely something to consider given how much this sounds like it is bothering you.  From the picture it appears you may have some issues with the bony portion of your nose and a good intranasal exam would be required to fully evaluate the cause of your breathing.  I would discuss with your original surgeon and consider evaluation with someone experienced with rhinoplasty in general but specifically revision cases.  This should be bale to be improved.  Best of luck.
Can nose job related cartilage bump be corrected?
bumps after rhinoplasty
Apr 22, 2019
Hello and thanks for your question, you appear to have thin skin.  It is not uncommon to see minor imperfections after rhinoplasty with this type of skin, the bumps can be removed or smoothed out with a revision procedure, you may also need something place under the skin to camouflage such as fascia or crushed cartilage to help smooth things out.  Hope this helps!
Should I be concerned that I have not seen before and after photos of my doctor's work? How do I move
Before and Afters
Apr 16, 2019
Before and after photos for rhinoplasty are a must, not only will you get an idea of what you can expect for an outcome, but you will also get an idea of how often the doctor does rhinoplasty.  Have specifically asked about before and afters, if so and you have not been shown any I would consider getting some other opinions.  If he/she does not have before and after photos, chnaces are they don't perform the procedure often.
Nose speculum used after rhinoplasty - Will this check up affect the result of my surgery ?
Nose speculum
Mar 30, 2019
I commonly will use a nasal speculum to examine the nose even less that 6 mo after I do a rhinoplasty. I can’t imagine that you would have anything to worry about with this. At 6 mo the structures in your nose should be pretty well established and should not be able to be disrupted from a routine exam. Hope this helps!
Bump on nose still present 11 weeks post rhinoplasty - Are there any chances of it going away still?
Bump on nose
Mar 30, 2019
You do have a slightly convex Dorian, although you overall profile looks good.  It is normal to have some swelling still at this point, I would give it another few months and if it doesn’t go down in 12 mo, this is something that should not be too difficult to correct.  Best of luck!
What can be done with my nose?
What can be done
Mar 30, 2019
I agree with your assessment of your nose.  I think with some suturing and grafting techniques you could achieve a narrower lower 2/3 of your nose.  An alar base procedure would also give you a borrower shape to your nostrils.  An in person evaluation would be best.  Best of luck!
