Her love of beauty, skin care and her passion for helping others feel good about themselves, eventually lead her to manage a successful 5th avenue Medspa and Surgical Center. As part of The Maas Clinic she is dedicated to providing patients a great experience with knowledgeable staff. When she is not at work she loves traveling and exploring her new home state of California.

Position: Spa Manager
Biography: Paulina joins us with 15 years of experience in the Medical Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery field. She has perfected what patient care should be. If there’s anything you need help with or have any questions, she’s the person to ask for. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with her bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing. As our Spa Director she is focusing her energy in providing our patients with the best services, experiences and results. From marketing events, trade shows and partnerships with companies in San Francisco she is helping our community learn more about our services and how we can help them look their best! She believes that the people you work with are your second family and is bringing that type of leadership to her new home here, at The Appearance Care Center. In her personal time, Paulina enjoys quality time with her family and friends, snowboarding, running and is secretly a chef creating new recipes at home.
Name: Fanny Meyer
Position: Registered Nurse
Biography: Our Lead Aesthetic Registered Nurse Fanny Meyer has been with the Maas Clinic and the Appearance Care Center since 2016. Born in Brazil, Fanny is a former Veterinarian specialized in horse reproduction. In the United States, she completed her Bachelor Degree in Nursing at the Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She moved to San Francisco with her husband for his dermatology residency at UCSF. Fanny loves aesthetic procedures and believes it is a form of art. She is passionate about educating and helping her patients to look and feel their best. In her free time, Fanny enjoys painting pictures of horses and spending time with her family that includes her husband, two cats, and a baby on the way.

Biography: Our Aesthetic Medical and Body Contouring Specialist Mona Khalili has been with the Appearance Care Center and The Maas Clinic since 2014. Originally hailing from Iran, Mona moved to the US in 2003 and obtained her Medical Assisting Certification from Carrington College in Emeryville, CA. Mona attended CoolSculpting University in 2014, and has become an expert in the field of Body Contouring. Mona lives in San Francisco with her husband Christian and her beautiful cat Coco. She enjoys spending time with friends and traveling as much as she can.

Position: Nurse Practitioner
Biography: Our Nurse Practitioner Danielle Bautista, has been with The Maas Clinic and the Appearance Care Center since 2016. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of California at Irvine, and received her Master’s in Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. She specializes in Iaser and light treatments to correct and maintain the skin. She is passionate about helping patients realize their best self. In her free time, Danielle enjoys international travel, running, opera and ballet.

Position: Registered Nurse
Biography: Carolyn is a Registered Nurse and Aesthetic Specialist. She came to the Maas Clinic with 25 years of nursing experience, primarily stemming from Critical Care and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Carolyn further expanded her skill set to include more “alternative” forms of healing, including biofeedback and Reike. She seamlessly incorporated Aesthetic Medicine into her areas of expertise and enjoys the ongoing relationships that Aesthetic Medicine cultivates. When Carolyn is not practicing the art of healing, she can be seen practicing the art of golf.

Position: Medical Assistant
Biography: After graduating as a Medical Assistant, Hayley went on to complete her externship at Kaiser’s Chemotherapy and Oncology department. Her time there touched her life forever, and heavily impacted the way she cares for her patients. Working with programs like Look Better Feel Better, Hayley was determined to help her patients feel beautiful from the inside out, no matter what ailment was afflicting them. After graduating from esthetician school, Hayley extended her career into dermatology, combining her love of aesthetics with the medical field. After having her first child, Hayley worked as an editor for a vegan parenting magazine, her passion for health and wellness always prevailing. At The Maas Clinic and The Appearance Care Center she utilizes all of her knowledge and experience to provide her team and patients with the best care possible. Hayley, her son and fiancée enjoy doing yoga, ballet and cooking vegan food together on her days off.

Biography: Following a research internship at Zuckerberg General Hospital, Raquel came to The Maas Clinic with a passion for helping people. She gains her happiness from working with our vibrant staff and delightful patients. Raquel looks up to Dr. Maas’s brilliance. Biography: Jay enjoys working on clinical research projects and helping clinical subjects with their research needs. He graduated from Anna University, India with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Biology from Arizona State University, with a thesis on regulation of Protein synthesis in Human Obesity. Currently, he has been working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at The Maas Clinic. He has developed excellent relationships with our subjects and has an excellent understanding of their needs. Biography: Briana was born and raised in San Francisco. She came to The Maas Clinic after working in Aesthetic and Dermatological practices for 4 years and is now our Front Office Manager. Briana is currently finishing her undergraduate degree as a nursing major. She believes giving back is an essential part of life, so she is heavily involved with The City Eats, a non-profit started by her friends that provides meals for the less fortunate of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Biography: Shaan is a multiple award winning filmmaker with 11+ years of experience working on films in different styles and genres such as narratives, documentaries, corporate videos, music videos, infomercials, wedding videos and theater plays. He earned his MFA in Motion Pictures & Television from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco and BFA in Film & Video Design from MIT Institute of Design, India. He considers himself to be a Story Teller. Here at the Maas clinic he manages the entire creative video process from script to screen. Biography: Dwi’s interest in accounting began at the age of 16 while assisting with a family business. Over the next few years, she handled the bookkeeping for the business while attending college. She graduated from the University of Trisakti in Jakarta in 2003 with a degree in accounting. She went on to get her MBA in accounting and finance from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University in 2007. She joined The Maas Clinic in 2018, with over 12 years of experience and has made a great impact on the office with her extensive experience and knowledge of all necessary computer programs. Biography: Kristin came to The Maas Clinic with eleven years of marketing sales management in the pharmaceutical industry. She excelled in her field with consistent exposure to the medical community by working closely with physicians, medical directors, and hospital administrators and consequently proved to be a valuable business consultant. As the Director of Community Outreach she most enjoys helping The Maas Clinic give back to the community through the many donations to non-profit and charitable organizations. It is great that you have taken the time to learn some anatomy however, this deformity is clearly more than just alar cartilage weakness. The ability to compress your entire tip suggests real deficiency in your nasal septum strength or even prescience (after surgery). At a minimum you will need a strong graft between the two Alar cartilages at the nasal tip and possible more. This is not difficult with an experienced facial plastic and Rhinoplasty surgeon. You are correct in understanding that the more basal revision surgeries you undergo, the lower the predictability of outcome in general. However, (and without reviewing your records), over grafted noses or noses that are too large are much safer and more predictable then the over respected and under supported noses we more commonly see. With the photo shown and no ruler or way to measure the amount of surface area, it is not possible to give an accurate estimate. However, if your head is average size and you really want a hairline that appears this low (normally I use 9 cm from the glabella – in between eyebrows as a reference point in hairline restoration)…it does appear to be 2000 follicular unit grafts or more. 10-15 grafts per sq cm.
