Will Botox for TMJ change my face a lot if I just get it here and there to ease the tension?
Botox for jaw pain(TMJ)?
May 15, 2020
Botox is very effective in relaxing the muscles that cause TMJ(jaw pain).  The effect is temporary(3 to 6 months), so you would need to have the treatment repeated a few times a year. A Facial Plastic Surgeon is a good choice since the face is the focus of the practice, but there are other providers that can do this procedure well.  Just call the office to see if this is a question the front desk person can readily answer. The treatment can slim the face slightly, but it is very subtle an...
Sudden onset Pigmentation 4 weeks post lip filler - Is this permanent? What can be done about
Sudden onset of pigmentation 4 weeks post lip filler.
Feb 20, 2020
You were great about documenting in photo's the journey to what appears to be a little brown spot on your lip.  If I look closely in the photo's, I see a small cold sore like bump under the skin of your lip. Once this little bump went down, you are left with a brown mark. It looks like the filler has settled down.  It will dissipate and absorb in time, but if there is something uneven hyaluronic filler can be dissolved.  You should go back to the person that performed your injections in th...
Is it better to get my sparse eyebrows microbladed before blepharoplasty to help guide a surge
Should I get microblading before or after upper eyelid surgery?
Feb 12, 2020
I personally would wait until after you do surgery.  A skilled facial plastic surgeon will look at your eyelids and not the eyebrows when deciding how much skin to remove. I recommend waiting 6 to 8 weeks after your upper eyelid surgery has healed to have microblading performed.  If you don't plan to have surgery for a few years, you can have microblading done any time and it won't affect the outcome in the future. Good luck!Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
One eye is more hooded and droopy than the other. What options are available to correct this?
One eye more hooded and droopy than the other.

Looking at the picture you provided, it looks like slight ptosis on your left eye.  I would need a complete evaluation to ask questions about any other treatments you may have received that may be contributing to the heavier left eye.  Once we've established what is causing it, we can proceed with a plan to correct this. My rhinoplasty is in 9 days. If I stop vaping now, will that be enough time? Would 11 days be
Smoking/vaping prior to surgery
Dec 18, 2019
It's so important to have a pre operative appointment two weeks prior to your surgery date. As far as vaping or smoking goes. It significantly reduces circulation and as a result slows the healing process. Definitely discuss this with your doctor and good luck with the surgery! Be Well.Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
