Umbrella enough to prevent from damaging grafts?
Sun exposure after transplant
Apr 9, 2019
If you were indeed protected by the umbrella from direct exposure, there should not be any problem. Wear a loose fitting broad-brimmed hat when in the sun.
I found about 20 grafts and blood on my pillow the first night after my transplant. Should I be worrie
Loss of Grafts
Apr 9, 2019
Don’t panic. As long as no further grafts are found, there should be minimal impact on your results. However, make sure you discuss this with your surgeon, and if you require an additional procedure, it is reasonable to expect a few complimentary grafts. Also make sure you are following your post-operative care instructions carefully.
Maximum numbers of grafts in a procedure?
How many grafts?
May 9, 2017
6000 grafts sounds way too aggressive in my opinion. You don’t want to deplete your donor area when you still have lots of potential hair loss that may need surgical correction in the years to come. Hard to be accurate with just one photo, but I would plant maybe 500 to the crown and 1200-1500 to the frontal zone. That should produce a nice cosmetic benefit.
How Effective is Spironolactone for Female Hair Loss?
Spironolactone
Apr 27, 2017
Hair loss is a chronic condition, and therefore treatments must be continued indefinitely. That is true for spironolactone as well as minoxidil, finasteride, light based treatments, and PRP. There are very few scientific studies that support the use of spironolactone, however, those of us that use it generally find that it can be helpful for many patients. I find the greatest benefit with high doses of 100 mg twice daily. There are risks associated with spironolactone, so its very…
Is Minoxidil for Short-term or Long-term Use?
Minoxidil Use
Apr 27, 2017
Minoxidil, like all hair loss treatments, must be continued indefinitely in order to maintain its benefits. Stopping minoxidil may result in the loss of hairs as soon as several weeks. This is also true for finasteride, light based treatments, and PRP. Hopefully someday a permanent cure will be developed, but so far that has been elusive.
I’ve Read Excessive Masturbation Can Cause Hair Loss, Is This True?
Masturbation and hair loss
Apr 24, 2017
Masturbation is often the primary sexual outlet for young men, and this is the same age group that begins to see hair loss, so its understandable that the one would be blamed for the other. However, male pattern hair loss is genetically predetermined and hormonal mediated, and will progress unless treated with medications such as minoxidil and finasteride. Please visit a Dermatologist with expertise in hair loss to get started on treatments.
What Type of Doctor Should I See for Thinning Hair?
What doctor for hair loss?
Apr 24, 2017
Dermatology is the medical specialty for diseases of skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. While not all Dermatologists are experts at all of these areas, no other specialist has adequate training. I certainly disagree that you should start with a hair surgeon, as you may be offered a surgical solution before a proper evaluation is performed.
