Pricing will vary nationally depending on the location of the facility. Be sure you are clear on what is included in the price...surgeon, facility, anesthesia, pre/post op appointments. Also, choose a Board Certified surgeon with experience and expertise. $8900 is in the ballpark for a mini facelift.

As no facelift is a "cookie-cutter" procedure-with a mini facelift, incisions would usually be in front of the ear and around the lobe to behind the ear to ensure the SMAS muscle and skin is tightened. These incisions can be hidden in the contour (crease in front) of the ear so once healed they are almost invisible.

Depending on the skin laxity in the face and jowl areas, a mini facelift on a 41 year old is certainly not unheard of. That being said, I would first recommend achieving some improvement with Ultherapy and/or InstaLift. I think you would be more satisfied with a full facelift down the road to tighten neck and jowls.

In looking at the jaw area you are concerned about, I would recommend waiting a few more years before having a revision facelift. Other options to consider at this time would be InstaLift threadlift and/ or Ultherapy. We have seen some great results tightening the jawline with both of these treatments in our practice.

If you are asking about the swelling & bruising, of course everyone is different-that said, typically patients are comfortable being seen about 10-14 days post surgery. I advise my patients to sleep with their head elevated, refrain from strenuous activity, follow icing instructions and take arnica and bromelain.

Ultherapy may give you some results you desire...but I think you would be most happy with a neck lift. You are not "too young" for a neck lift procedure. Yes, sun damage can definitely age skin prematurely. Sunscreen and a broad rimmed hat are always recommended.

If you are looking for something conservative first, you could try a series of micro-needling. Next up would be Fraxel Repair (Fraxel Restore is less invasive & I don't think you would see much of an improvement). With Fraxel Repair you will have some down-time...7-14 days. It is possible that you will still need a facelift to improve that area of the neck.

I think your best route would be a facelift. Without a side view pic it's a bit difficult to tell for sure, but you would probably not meet your expectations with fillers and Ultherapy.

You should be healed enough to have a tummy tuck 2 months after your facelift. My practice has had several patients that were healthy and great candidates for multiple procedures within a shorter period of time as well. I would typically be more inclined to start with a tummy tuck and follow with a facelift.

For many patients, a preoperative prescription of a Medrol Dosepak for swelling after facelift surgery is fine. It is important to start taking it prior to surgery to achieve the greatest benefit. Serious side effects are rare. The most reported side effect from Medrol in my practice is insomnia. Definitely discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Be proactive by discontinuing aspirin, ibuprofen,vitamin E, herbal supplements and any medication that thins the blood. Begin taking arnica montana and bromelain supplements a minimum of 1 week prior to surgery. Post surgery be sure to keep your head elevated and apply ice as instructed. Avoid any type of strenuous activity that would increase blood flow to the area for at least 2 weeks.

Sleeping at a 30-45 degree angle in a recliner is ideal. Another option is using pillows under the head while in bed to achieve this angle, and adding a pillow under the knees to make it less likely to slide down.
