Very often our eyelid anatomy is a combination of our heredity, bone structure and age. Lower eyelids can become 'baggy' when orbital fat begins to come forward, usually in our adult years. But bone structure of the midface/cheek can exacerbate this. So lower eyelid surgery can be helpful to reduce the unwanted fat, but midface support using injectible fillers and possibly surgical implants, is often needed as well. 'Caution' is the friend of 'treatment'.

The fractional laser purposely lasers small (less than 1 mm) points while leaving adjacent skin undisturbed. This makes it more comfortable, safer and leads to quicker healing. Depending on what energy level that is used, healing can be longer or shorter. Generally we see about 4 days of downtime with our patients. Typically by day 5 skin looks pink, resembling a day if the sun, so patients can resume most activities.
