Can I have Botox done if there is a bump on my forehead from an injury?
Bump on forehead
Dec 30, 2019
Your bump is far from the injection sites for a botox browlift. If you wanted your forehead injected for horizontal wrinkles then the injector would take care to inject more superficially to avoid the bump. Best of luck!
Does small space on upper eyelid and reason for developing extra skin/wrinkles exclude me as a ca
Small space on eyelids
Dec 28, 2019
In general even if you have low set brows, I almost always recommend upper blepharoplasty.   Any excess skin will be accentuated given the smaller space. Crying may have sped up the process but it is still fine to have surgery. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Could this be considered scleral show and lower eyelid retraction? Could it be related to my dry
Eyelid retraction
Dec 27, 2019
Yes this is eyelid retraction. You have a larger space of exposed eye surface, so the tears evaporate more quickly leading to dry eyes. This usually gets worse with age as gravity pulls them down more.   We usually recommend surgery when symptoms progress to the point that they are affecting you on a daily basis and medical treatment has been exhausted. Hope this is a help and best of luck!
I want to correct eyebrow asymmetry - does Botox help this muscle weakness?
Brow asymmetry
Dec 27, 2019
Botox can be very helpful in balancing brows both with the level and shape.   the most important step is to find a very experienced injector with a good understanding of the anatomy.   Unfortunately many Botox injections actually inadvertently cause asymmetry of the brows. Each injection site must be precise.   I think you would notice a nice difference. Good luck!
Will Botox help these static wrinkles or will I need filler too?
Forehead lines
Dec 27, 2019
You would be a great candidate for Botox but to see the most improvement you would need to do this 4 times a year over a number of years.   your lines are deep from many years of lifting you brows and it will take time for your body to fill them in.   You need to keep the muscles at rest for this to happen thus needing injections every three months.   They will gradually fill in and you’ll enjoy the results more and more. Best of luck!
Is this ptosis or dermatochalasis? I am 27 years old, what should I do?
Ptosis or dermatochalasis
Dec 27, 2019
You have a combination of low set brows and low eyelid crease causing excess skin to overhang your lashes. An upper blepharoplasty would lead to brighter more open eyes. I recommend seeing an oculoplastic specialist. Beat of luck!Open
One eye smaller than the other when smiling, any suggestions?
Smaller eye
Dec 27, 2019
This could definitely result from previous Bell’s palsy. When the nerve heals, many nerve endings end up regrowing to the wrong muscles so when you smile the eye closes.  botox is the solution and can make a a big difference. You should be evaluated by an oculoplastic specialist and best of luck!
Should your doctor have you get an eye examination before an upper blepharoplasty is scheduled fo
Eye exam before surgery
Dec 27, 2019
This probably varies a lot, but as an oculoplastic surgeon, very familiar with the eye, I feel that if you are required to see an eye doctor this raises the question as to whether your doctor is comfortable operating on eyelids.   If in fact it may be covered by insurance then by all means an evaluation by an eye doctor is worth it. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Should you let Botox Wear off before Upper Blepharoplasty surgery?
Botox and blepharoplasty
Dec 27, 2019
It is safe to have the surgery with Botox on board however it is helpful for the surgeon to know in advance.  The brow must be in a relaxed position when marking the lid skin for removal.   As Botox can lead to arching, the surgeon must massage the brow down to the relaxed position.   I actually do this on every patient as a precaution. Hope this helps.
Would I need an eyelid lift or brow lift?
Eyelid or brow lift
Nov 18, 2019
I’m not a big fan of brow lifting as it frequently leads to a surprised look.   I think an upper blepharoplasty would make a great difference and can always be repeated later as you age.   Its a nice way to brighten the eyes and look very natural.   I recommend you see an oculoplastic specialist and best of luck!
Will ptosis repair surgery help my eyes and give them a better look, especially when smiling? (ph
Ptosis surgery?
Nov 18, 2019
If there is any drooping of the eyes, it’s worse when smiling. We unconsciously use our brows to elevate our eyes, and this shuts off when we smile.   You should see an oculoplastic surgeon who can evaluate you and recommend options.   I believe your ptosis could be significantly improved. Wishing you the best of luck!
What do you believe has caused my upper lid to 'retract' or get stuck and what is the best way to
Retracted eyelid
Nov 18, 2019
Unfortunately upper eyelid surgery can sometimes affect the levator muscle leading to ptosis or retraction. Sometimes it just a matter of eyelid skin asymmetry.   You should definitely seek consultation with an experienced oculoplastic surgeon who will be able to assess your particular situation.   There’s an excellent chance that touch up surgery will lead to significant improvement. Don’t give up! And best of luck.
What technique and which success rate after 2 failed Ptosis surgeries?
Ptosis revision
Nov 18, 2019
Ptosis can be tricky to fix so having already had two surgeries, I think you could consider having another procedure with a different surgeon. Unfortunately some types of ptosis can’t be significantly improved so you take this risk, but at least you’ve given it a shot. As to which procedure is best it depends on the surgeon’s training and experience.   Just try to find the surgeon with the most expertise. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Fat graft removal from inner eyes. Is it possible with an upper bleph?
Fat graft removal from eyelids
Nov 18, 2019
Yes fat grafting can be surgically removed from the eyelids to help return your eyes to your pre op appearance. It’s definitely more involved than taking out naturally positioned fat, so you need to find an experienced surgeon. Fat grafting causes scarring so the surgery must address both fat and scar tissue.   Don’t give up and best of luck!
Would Botox help these wrinkles I get from smiling in corners of my eyes?
Smile lines
Nov 18, 2019
Absolutely botox would help! This is the preferred treatment and I believe you would achieve great results. Most essential is finding an experienced injector. Good luck!!!
