Will fat transfer to loose facial skin lead to sagging and folds?
Fat transfer
Dec 10, 2018
Hello, great question! In general, no matter age of patient, we don’t usually encounter a situation where the transferred fat can cause permanent sagging of the face, though it can appear that way temporarily during immediate swelling phase… what we see though is consultation for too much fat placed elsewhere and making the face unnaturally puffy looking and round looking…
Even though it is just one view, the before and after picture s…
How to understand a surgeon’s experience in Asian double eyelid blepharoplasty surgery?
Finding expert in double eyelid surgery
Nov 12, 2018
Great Question. You need to find a Board Certified Surgeon specializing in General Plastic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery, or Oculoplastic Surgery who have spent many years during training in thoroughly learning the anatomy of the eyes; and, observing and assisting many experienced Surgeons operate in and around the eyes. In my opinion finding the Surgeon who knows the anatomy and is familiar with variations of the anatomy which can…
At my wits end with Botox and under eyes. What can I do?
Puffy under eye bags
Oct 16, 2018
Hello
I am glad you are enjoying the effects of the Botox other than noticing worsening of the undereye fat bag… the reason why this is happening is the Botox is getting near the undereye muscle which weakens from aging process and is now more weakened by the Botox, further accentuating the lower eyelid fatbag and the puffiness.
Immediate fix would be not to Botox in the vicinity of the fatbag… long-term fix would be to undergo undereye fatbag surgery.. Talk to your…
Is it possible to do the fat transfer in the paranasal area to help with midface concavity?
Paranasal augmentation
Sep 3, 2018
Hi you didn’t mention how old you are and if you need fat anywhere else in the face.. paranasal area is a great place for fat transfer but usually requires at least two sessions for permanent volume restoration. If this area is your only concern, Radiesse filler can be initially placed to give you an idea and may be substantially more economical than fat injection, and can last up to a year….. my other favorite option to this area is your own cartilage implants harvested f…
Will a temporal lift help to lift my cheeks upwards towards the temple?
Temporal lift
Aug 13, 2018
Hi always more helpful to see a picture of your concerned area…. but, to clarify, temporal “lift” will not do much in terms of lifting your cheek… but mid-face/cheek lift using a temporal “approach” will definitely help you…
the difference lies in what Dr.keller alluded to which is in order to achieve an adequate mid-face/check lift, the surgical dissection need to pass inferior to your malar/ cheek eminence (aka the bucket-handle)… due to anatomical complex…
Why do I need a fat transfer to cheek surgery after lower blepharoplasty?
2 surgeries?
Jun 24, 2018
Hi this is an excellent question I tackle with my patients nearly everyday since I perform lower eyelid and/or facial fat grafting nearly on daily basis..
first of all you are a great candidate for removal of your fatbag since this will make you look more rejuvenated and less tired appearing. However, once the fat is removed, underneath the orbital rim, you will show some tear trough, presently masked by your herniating fatbag… the…
Can I have a fat transfer from my previously liposuctioned thighs to my face?
Fat from thigh to face
Jun 24, 2018
Hi
Absolutely.. we call it “two birds with one stone”.. further refining and countering the thigh and harvesting the fat for facial revolumization.. if you like the fat transfer to your buttocks, you will like it to you face as well… Good Luck!
I have excess fat from fat grafting under my eye?
Fat to the eyes
Jun 24, 2018
Hi,
Technically, I think it was well done.. looks like fat infiltration was performed both deep as well as superficial to the oculi muscle.. only issue is perhaps a bit generous in the amount infiltrated, but please keep in mind, 60% to 70% will disappear in matter of a few months…..Curious how much fat has been infiltrated on each side?… in my practice, we discuss clearly how soon patients must return to work and place the appropriate amount accordingly… usually…
I had a fat transfer to my cheeks 6 days ago.
3.5 cc to cheek at 6 days
Jun 24, 2018
Hi it would be helpful if I knew your approximate age, goal of the fat transfer, and of course a picture… but because 60 to 70% of the fat will disappear, not unusual for Surgeons to initially place a bit more, like 110% to 120% initially to achieve a better yield in the long run… combined to this there is post-surgical swelling for the first week or two… also generous amount of fat placed into same compartment/pocket initially can clump and harden…
Facial fat transfer, mid face lift or Ultherapy?
Deep nasolabial fold
Jun 24, 2018
Hi
Thanks for your pictures.. would love to see your entire face so I can get a better grasp of your ethnic make up…
but as 23 year old, I don’t think you need Mid-face nor Ultherapy, both procedures which I champion very much, only in the “right” age category patients… biologically you are too young and by seeing the thickness of your skin you won’t need either procedures anytime soon.. for that matter you don’t even need the filler in a similar way a 40 …
Hard lump in undereye area after transconjunctival fat repositioning & fat graft?
Lumps
Jun 24, 2018
Hi
I am sorry for your issues.. you have been patient and waited a full year… if you still see lumps and bumps, chances are after one full year, they will remain as such..
I recommend going back to your Surgeon and getting update evaluation and decide what can be done to improve upon the present situation…. if you trust him but he feels uncomfortable as to the next step, perhaps he can recommend a colleague who is an “expert’s” expert who specializes in revis…
What procedure do you recommend to improve m eyes?
Double fold
Jun 22, 2018
Hi
Overall composition of your face is very attractive. However pictures are two dimensional, and as such, can highlight the inherent assymetry of the two sides of the face, right side being slightly bigger than left.. As such, right eye is slightly bigger than the left eye as well. I think you will do great with conventional open incision double fold surgery, but would caution on maintaining small fold that will successfully reduce the heaviness of your upper eyelids and…
Would epicanthoplasty help me?
Bigger Eyes
Jun 8, 2018
Hi excellent question that many patients in similar situation can benefit from.
First of all you do have a very naturally balanced eyes in terms of your left and right eye and in relationship of the eyes to the top of the nose and sides of your cheek… this balance already provides a pleasant appearance to your face… you do not want to lose this natural beauty for sake of enlarging your eyes and certainly epicanthiplasty will be the worst option because…
Eyelid surgery ptosis. What are my options to make them symmetrical?
Asymmetry of the eyes
May 28, 2018
Hi I see beautiful eyes that are slightly different.. from what little I can see surrounding your peri-ocular area, I can see that you right cheek is a little forward and higher while your left check is a bit recessed and lower… your eye likewise is a bit forward and rounder on the right while left side is a bit recessed and a bit more avoid.. these are natural variation we all exhibit.
Yes your left lid is a bit lower than right but in reality your entire left eye is a…
Droopy eyelids, is blepharoplasty double eyelid surgery for me?
Droopy or tired
May 28, 2018
Hi great question!
The anatomy of Asian eyes can vary greatly depending on the thickness of the skin and underlying muscles and fat as well as whether the eyes are prominent or recessed. To complicate matters worse many exhibit a degree of ptosis which is ability of your Levator muscles to widely open your eyes without any supporting help from the eyebrows. Thus the dynamics of all these anatomical variant in Asian eyes lends itself to that old misconception of…
