34 y/o, 5’7″, 252 pounds. had a baby a year ago. 2 herniated discs. What surgery do you recommend?
Weight Loss Before Tummy Tuck
Oct 13, 2020
Your BMI of 39.5 puts you above the acceptable range for surgery which is a BMI of 32 or below. To minimize complications, it is best to be at, and know that you can maintain, your ideal weight for at least six months prior to surgery as weight fluctuations can impact your surgery results down the road. The closer you are to your ideal weight, the better your surgical results will be. Surgery is not a replacement for diet and exercise. Contact a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an…
Can I have a Tummy Tuck or Lipo 5 and half months after my C-section?
When Can I Have Tummy Tuck After C-Section
Oct 12, 2020
It is feasible to have a tummy tuck just six months after a C-section. Waiting up to 12-months is wise to allow your body time to fully recover. For best results you will want to be at your optimum weight, have completed childbearing (to avoid having another tummy tuck in the future), and are no longer breast feeding (medications from a tummy tuck surgery cannot be taken while breast feeding). Choose a board-certified plastic surgeon. Enjoy your new baby! Best wishes.

Is there any chance I would need a lift?
Breast Augmentation Only? Or Need a Lift Too?
Feb 14, 2020
Based on your photos, you should have a lovely result and achieve the look you desire with a breast augmentation only. There is no sagging of your breasts so no need for a lift. Be sure to meet only with board certified plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes!

Will it be possible for me to see a doctor or plastic surgeon for aftercare if I get breast implants a
Aftercare Following Breast Surgery Abroad
Nov 16, 2019
It is highly advisable to stay near your home for surgery so that you have ready access to your operating plastic surgeon should there be any complications and/or questions following surgery. While at first, the cost might seem less expensive when looking into surgery abroad, it can end up being more expensive. You will have to pay out of pocket for any appointments and revision surgeries should you be able to even find a local plastic surgeon to take on your case (many plastic surgeons cho…

Implant Size
Oct 9, 2019
There are many factors that go into determining the correct breast
size for any person. At your consultations, share photos of your dream breast
size, of breasts you consider too small or too large on similar frames as
yours, and review the surgeon’s before and after photos. The pictures you
bring, the surgeon’s pictures, along with the examination, discussion, and
testing of sizers, will help your surgeon and you to choose the most appropriate implant size and type for
you.

Tummy Tuck Now or Wait Until Lose More Weight?
Sep 29, 2019
Your BMI of 31 puts you in the acceptable range for having surgery. However, that is one piece of the puzzle. It is best to be at, and know that you can maintain your ideal weight for at least six months prior to surgery as weight fluctuations can impact your surgery results down the road. The closer you are to your ideal weight, the better your surgical results will be. Remember that a tummy tuck and liposuction are not replacements for diet and exercise. Contact a Board Certified …
Can breast augmentation make breast tenderness linked to menstrual cycle worse?
Breast Augmentation and Menstrual Breast Pain
Aug 16, 2019
Thank you for your excellent question. Breast augmentation (whether over or under the muscle) does not make you more or less predisposed to experiencing greater breast pain from menstruation. While swelling after breast augmentation surgery may temporarily increase menstrual breast pain, you should find that any pain or tenderness returns to your pre-op level. Meet with only Board Certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes. Dr. Karen SingerHarvard GraduateBoard Certified by the American Board o…

Breast Asymmetry Need One or Two Implants?
Jul 25, 2019
If you were my patient, based on your photo, I would recommend implants for both breasts to provide the symmetry you desire. With one implant only, you run the risk of asymmetrical upper pole fullness. You may still remain conservative in size. Best wishes! Karen Singer, M.D., P.A.Harvard GraduateBoard Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Choosing Breast Implant Size for Breast Augmentation
Jul 5, 2019
First, schedule consults with several plastic surgeons
in your area to determine the best surgeon for you. You will want to meet only
with surgeons who are Board Certified. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon has completed
rigorous education and training and has deep experience in breast implants.

Large Breast Implants – Too Large?
Jun 23, 2019
Congratulations on maintaining your significant weight loss over the years. Based on your photos, 600cc implants are much too large for you and would lead to increased sagging and future surgery. An in-person exam is needed, though it appears you would benefit from sub-muscular implants along with a breast lift. Be sure to meet with surgeons who are Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes.

Postpone Breast Augmentation Due to Bronchitis
Jun 23, 2019
Thank you for your question. If you were my patient, I would recommend that you wait until you are well before having your breast augmentation surgery (or any elective surgery) to avoid the risk of any complications. Best wishes.

An in-person evaluation is needed to determine the best course for you specifically and a second opinion is a good decision when it comes to surgical procedures. Be sure to meet with surgeons who are Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes.

Breast lift and augmentation in 2 stages or one procedure?
Breast Lift Followed By Breast Augmentation
May 27, 2019
Congratulations on your weight loss. Based upon the photos you submitted, if you were my patient, I would advise a two-stage approach. First the mastopexy, followed by breast augmentation after four to six months. While this would require two surgeries and resulting recovery time, it would serve you best in healing and in achieving the results you desire. Be sure the surgeon you choose is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best Wishes.

I am 5 weeks post breast augmentation, do I suffer from double bubble?
Early Breast Augmentation Results
Apr 23, 2019
Congratulations on your breast augmentation! It can take up to six months for your breasts to heal and to know the final results of your surgery. At this time, you are just over a month post-op which is very early in your recovery. You will find that your breasts will change over the coming weeks and months. Additionally, it is important to know that each breast can drop and fluff at a different pace. Follow your surgeon’s post-op instructions, and talk with him/her for the best guida…
