Based on your pictures, it would be best to come up with a plan on how to address all of your concerns in a way that minimizes the number of procedures and maximizes safety. Your breasts may be improved on their own, or you can continue the procedure to remove the side and back skin excess. However, and in person assessment is best to formulate a treatment plan for you. Absorbable mesh may be used in maintaining the rectus diastasis repair. The results depend on the type of mesh being used and how bad the diastasis is. Since there are no long-term studies that show it provides better results, it is not recommended for most repairs. However, in cases with large diastasis, weak abdominal walls, revisions, hernias, and other problems, it may be useful. Have a discussion with your surgeon on why it is recommended in your case.
