He is also Director of the Division of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery and Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University School of Medicine. Double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, he specializes in plastic surgery focused on the face and neck. While he is noted to be a national and international expert in rhinoplasty, he also performs other cosmetic and reconstructive procedures within the face, head, and neck.

At the heart of Dr. Ezzat’s practice lies a strong belief in the importance of a trusting patient-surgeon relationship. An open line of communication with each patient is critical to ensuring that their individual needs are met and each procedure is a success.

Equally significant is Dr. Ezzat’s philosophy that “natural beauty is the best kind of beauty.”

“I believe that all cosmetic procedures should enhance the appearance of the face—not completely alter it,” says Dr. Ezzat. “Just as every individual’s face is distinctive and complements the rest of the body, I am committed to providing a patient-centered, specialized approach to each surgery.”

Dr. Ezzat received his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his surgical internship and residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also an assistant professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and frequently presents at medical conferences around the world. He is a fellow of The American College of Surgeons.

Bulbous nose tip & need ostomy, natural nose, silicone or donor cartilage?
Asian rhinoplasty
Sep 3, 2023
Thank you for your question. As a rule of thumb, I never use silicone in the nose. Over time, silicone can be recognized as foreign by the body. When this happens, the body will start to reject the silicone implant – requiring revision rhinoplasty.. If you look at the medical literature, complication rates, long-term, are higher for silicone and other implantable material over cartilage. In my practice, I only use cartilage and facia for rhinoplasty on patients with Asian descent. In…
Asian Rhinoplasty and mid face augmentation options?
Midface hollowness
Feb 19, 2023
Thank you for your question. There are many ways to augment the midface, from implants to autologous tissue – including cartilage and fat transfer. Most surgeons who perform a good number of facial plastics surgery in the United States are comfortable with these procedures. So I agree that there should be more options available to you outside of having to travel to Korea.

I would seek out a board-certified specialist who has extensive experience facial surgery.

Hope this helps! Good…

Am I a good candidate for revision rhinoplasty?
When is it time to have a revision rhinoplasty?
Oct 29, 2022
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry your experience wasn’t what you hoped it would be.

By the pictures you provided, a revision rhinoplasty would be a good option for you. Of course, a full clinical exam would provide a more definitive answer.

The goal of this is to attain the nose you’re hoping to get without having to go through this again. Therefore, I highly recommend you find a board-certified specialist with extensive experience with revision rhinoplasty. Take your time in findi…

Should I consider a revision rhinoplasty? 4 years post op, nose is beginning to twist.
When should you seek out a revision procedure
Oct 13, 2022
Thank you for your question. Undergoing, or even contemplating a revision rhinoplasty, can be a very taxing experience emotionally. However, when you think you may need a revision, it is always best to find a board-certified specialist who is well-versed in revision rhinoplasty and get an opinion on what can and what cannot be done through surgery. Without examining your nose or reviewing the operative notes from the first procedure, it will be very difficult to comment on whether you are…
Is a possible to reshape JUST the TIP of my nose?
Tip work on the Asian Nose
Jul 18, 2022
Thank you for your question. I see this quite frequently in my practice. If you are of Asian descent, more than likely the rules are a bit different for you when it comes to rhinoplasty. Due the to genetic makeup of the nose, it is not possible to accomplish what you would like without adding cartilage from elsewhere in your body to support your nose. You see, in most instances, this type of nose tends to have a short septum, which gives support to the nose throughout. If you attempt to…
Will I need revision as nose looks exactly the same after revision rhinoplasty?
When is it time to look into a revision rhinoplasty?
Jul 4, 2022
Thank you for your question. Since it has been over one year since your first rhinoplasty, you can consider your nose healed and evaluate whether or not you have achieve the goals you were setting out for. If you feel goals haven’t been achieved, then I would seek out a board-certified specialist with extensive experience in revision rhinoplasty for a second opinion.

Having performed many of these procedures, I know how daunting it is for individuals to consider a revision procedure. B…

Saddle and open roof deformity after primary rhinoplasty
Do I have a saddle nose?
May 26, 2022
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your rhinoplasty results. I would give yourself a full year to heal. The tip is likely to swollen and this may change your overall profile. Keep in contact with your surgeon. If this is not an option, then I would wait the full year, or at least close to a year, and find a board certified specialist with extensive experience in revision rhinoplasty. And most cases, revision rhinoplasty can bring your nose back to its for…
Cheek sagging after submalar implant removal, what can be done to lift cheeks back up?
What to do with your cheeks after implant removal
May 18, 2022
Thank you for your question. I would give it six months from your implant removal to see what your cheeks do. However, you may be a candidate for a cheek lift procedure to correct the sagging. I only a full clinical evaluation will help determine that.

Good luck!

17 years post-op- Am I a good candidate for a revision rhinoplasty?
Your revision procedure
Apr 29, 2022
Thank you for your question. First, let me start off by saying you are not alone. Surgeons who do quite a bit of revision rhinoplasty, such as myself, completely understand where you’re coming from. You’ve already gone through one procedure and the disappointment you feel serves as a roadblock to even think about a secondary procedure. So first let me say, congratulations for getting this far in the thought process.

It would appear that you could benefit from a reduction in your tip pro…

Revising the nose
Apr 28, 2022
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your first rhinoplasty. By the pictures provided and the description in your question, you would likely benefit from a secondary procedure. It is probably best to wait close to a full year from your first procedure and keep in touch with your surgeon. If you are within that first year you still have some healing to do. If you are close to the one-year mark, I recommend seeking out a board-certified specialist who h…
Rhinoplasty 7 months postop and unhappy with results – how can this be fixed?
When should I consider a revision?
Apr 2, 2022
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry to hear that you’re not entirely happy with your rhinoplasty procedure. Since you’re only seven months out, and it takes the nose a full year to heal, I would wait until you get closer to the one-year mark before making a decision to pursue a revision procedure.

Once you hit the one year mark, a full clinical examination would be necessary in order to determine whether or not a revision is possible, what can be done, and the expectations you shoul…

Salvaging the implanted nose
Apr 2, 2022
Thank you for your question. Once an implant has been placed in the nose, there is always an option to remove the implant and let the nose heal back to its natural state. For most patients who present to my office with this problem, they prefer to remove the implant (if it’s causing them issues) and revise the nose back to a more aesthetically pleasing state.

I would seek out a board-certified specialist who is well-versed in facial aging techniques and treatments.

Best of luck!
