Answer Snippet
Can eye drops like Upneeq be used to treat eye ptosis?
Yes it can
Oct 21, 2022
Upneeq works by stimulating a small muscle in your upper eyelid and usually provides ~ 2mm of lift. People with aponeurotic ptosis can effectively use upneeq. Depending on the degree of ptosis and how much you respond to upneeq, it may or may not be enough. Hope this helps!
Can chin botox smooth dents/dimples when smiling/speaking?
Yes botox can help.
Oct 12, 2022
Hi there, in general, yes botox can help with dimples and indentations on the chin with dynamic movements. I recommend getting a consultation for an in person evaluation. Hope this helps a little.
I had an under eye filler a year. Does it look like it is migrating?
Yes filler can migrate
Oct 12, 2022
Hi there, yes filler can definitely migrate. Based on your photo – you can see on the right side where there is a pocket of protrusion – this looks like filler edema. On the left it appears more smooth. You could potentially dissolve some of the filler or inject a little more in certain areas to help camouflage this. However, too much filler injected multiple times can also cause persistent edema. You will have to discuss the pros and cons with an experienced physician to see what should be…
Botox for traumatic scar between eyebrows
It may help a little
Oct 12, 2022
Hi there, botox may help – as it will prevent your brow muscles from contracting so the scar becomes slightly less visible. However, the scar appears slightly deep, so even with relaxing the muscles completely you will see the scar. Filler may help slightly but this is a high risk area for vascular complications. Another thing you could potentially consider is excising the old scar and replacing it with a finer scar (and not so deep of a scar). Hope this helps.
What procedures should I get for aging skin at 31 yo and in what order?
No particular order
Oct 11, 2022
Hi there, there is no particular order – it depends on what you are bothered by. For example, if you are bothered by the wrinkles, you can consider botox to prevent dynamic wrinkles and laser/chemical peel to improve the quality of the skin. If you are bothered by volume loss on the face – fillers and fat injections can help. If the sagging skin is what you are concerned about then PDO thread or face lift can help. PDO thread typically lasts about 6 months or so. Hope this helps!
Would I be considered too “overweight” for dermal fillers/botox?
Yes botox and fillers can be given
Oct 11, 2022
Hi there, yes absolutely, botox can be given safely to help with wrinkles. Fillers can be given to provide more volume in certain parts of the face. A thorough in person evaluation is necessary to discuss what your concerns are and what can be done with fillers – as it has limitations in terms of what it can do for aging. Hope this helps!
What to do for under eye laxity?
You can try lasers or chemical peels
Oct 11, 2022
Hi there, upper eyelid blepharoplasty can easily help with extra upper eyelid skin. It doesn’t appear that you have excess lower eyelid skin. You can try some lasers/energy based device or chemical peels to “iron out” out the wrinkles. I would recommend going to an oculoplastic surgeon near you to discuss the options based your exam. Hope this helps!
