Thanks for your questions,Well done on your weight loss and keeping it off.  I think at 21 years old your best option is to try and tone the legs through a combination of healthy eating and exercise.  I wouldn’t expect the loose skin to disappear but it will be “taken up” by increased muscle bulk to some extent.I wouldn’t exclude surgery but I would try to avoid it if you can.  Surgery will leave permanent scars so it really needs careful consideration.All the best,Dean

It is usual to have some swelling after brachioplasty and this can continue for several months.  I would expect with time and massage the tight areas will relax and soften and your swelling will settle.Lymphatic massage is a good idea too and worthwhile continuing.Your photos suggest your right arm is a little tighter than the left but I think with time they should be quite similar.I suggest you catch up with your surgeon in about 6 weeks for a check up, or if you are concerned things are g…

Yes, you can.  However, it’s something that is not commonly required.  You’re correct that if you have a lot of horizontal excess a FDL may be required, however in your case your redundancy is mainly vertical.  You do have some weakness of your muscles with a diastasis which will add to your vertical excess once repaired but I think you’ll achieve excellent results with a body lift.  A body lift without a FDL has big advantages, particularly reduced complications, less healing time and av…

Hi there,Judoing from your photos it looks like you have what promises to be an excellent result from your body lift.  Things look to be going well healing wise with regard to the abdomen and hips. Your thighs maybe swollen but it is hard to tell.  I suspect they are ok and that you have a little bit of swelling but this should recede soon.  If you have any pain or you think it has become worse I’d suggest you see you surgeon soon for an in-person consultation.Kind regards,Dean

Thanks for your question,Whilst a lower body lift (LBL) can be performed with a thigh lift generally I prefer not to do this for several reasons.  Firstly, it increases the risk of complications, particularly wound complications.  Secondly, even though a LBL doesn’t have have any effect on the medial thigh, it will help the outer thigh, especially the upper thigh.  Thirdly, I believe you will get a lesser result combining the procedures than if they were performed separately.The com…

Hi there,Thanks for your question.I agree your nipple and areola is purple.  This can happen due to bruising but it may be due to an inadequate blood supply (most likely venous outflow).  I suggest contacting your surgeon for a review as soon as you can.  My guess is that it is just bruising because there appears to be some variation of colour and a small area of “normal” coloured skin, however there is no substitute for an in-person examination.I hope all goes well.Kind regards,Dean
