What is the typical rhinoplasty recovery like?
Rhinoplasty recovery
Jan 24, 2021
Jan 24, 2021
Swelling and bruising after rhinoplasty lasts for about 1-2 weeks. During the first few days patients may experience a pressure like feeling around their nose and have some congestion. Pain is minimal. The nasal cast, when present, comes off at the first post-operative appointment, one week after surgery. In cases where I perform closed preservation rhinoplasty, recovery is on average 50% faster. Most patients resume their social activities and work in 2 weeks and return back to light…
When can I go out in public without looking like I just had facelift surgery?
Facelift recovery
Jan 10, 2021
Jan 10, 2021
Recovery from any surgery is individual so I always inform patients that the timelines given represent averages, based on the majority of my patients. Certain patients recover faster, while other take a bit longer. Having multiple procedures at the same time such as eyelid surgery or fat grafting can definitely increase bruising and swelling. On average, with a deep plane facelift, swelling peeks at three days and starts coming down days 5-7. At one week, the swelling is at least 50% better….
What is the best option to improve the appearance of the abdomen?
Tummy tuck scar
Dec 29, 2020
Dec 29, 2020
From you pictures you appear a good candidate for a tummy tuck. That is the only way to achieve a flat abdomen. It is possible that you will end up with a small vertical scar, but that usually ends up fading away, and also very often it ends up being hidden by the underwear/bikini.
Do I need a breast lift or is an augmentation with an implant sufficient?
Breast augmentation with or without a lift
Dec 29, 2020
Dec 29, 2020
A breast augmentation alone can definitely help lift the nipple. However, the amount of lift may be inadequate and a breast lift may be necessary in order to reposition the nipple at the center of the breast mount. In your case the amount of ptosis (droopiness) appears to be minimal. I would recommend a breast augmentation with a peri-areolar lift. This procedure allows small amount of lift, the incision is just around the areola and would optimize the breast augmentation result.
Am I suitable for a lift without implants?
Breast lift without implants
Dec 29, 2020
Dec 29, 2020
A breast lift alone would reduce the size of your areola and give you an improved breast shape. However, the only downside of not having an implant is possibly the lack of fullness at the upper aspect of the breast (upper breast pole). Many women are ok with a more natural tear drop breast that is perky and are happy with just a lift. I hope this helps.
Facelift – if yes what type please?
Deep plane facelift
Dec 28, 2020
Dec 28, 2020
Hi Alih! My recommendation would be a deep plane face and neck lift. That would be the most effective way to improve the facial contours of your face. Although you do not need a full forehead lift, you would benefit from a lateral brow lift and an upper blepharoplasty. With respect to the lower eyelids, I would perform minimal fat excision through a transconjunctival approach to decrease puffiness and fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing to improve firmness and texture of the lower eyelid. Dry, flaky skin post facelift.
Skin changes after facelift
Dec 28, 2020
Dec 28, 2020
It is normal to experience changes in your skin as part of the healing process. As the swelling and inflammation subside and as the skin reestablishes its normal physiology, these side-effects will disappear. In addition to appropriate skin care, many of our patients find regular lymphatic drainage and moisturizing/ oxygen facials very helpful at expediting this process.
