In general, the best laser to treat individuals with light skin is a 755 nm wavelength Alexandrite laser and the best laser to treat individuals with dark skin is 1064 nm wavelength NdYag laser. It is especially important that dark skinned individuals are not treated with the wrong laser to avoid burns, hyperpigmentation and/or hypopigmentation.
