Did my nipple fall off?
Nipple healing

Hi, thanks for your pictures. Because a nipple areola graft is thicker than a regular skin graft it takes longer for a new blood supply to grow in. As a result, the top layer commonly ‘dies’, scabs or sloughs away, but the underlying layers heal. We usually leave any scabs in place and let the wound heal from underneath. In some cases the graft can fail, but there is often secondary scar that grows in which may look ok.

Testosterone effect on the breasts
Mar 28, 2018
Mar 28, 2018
Hi, Thanks for your question. In my experience I’ve only had one patient who has had a significant deflation of their breast tissue after commencing Testosterone. This patient still had excess skin as it had not deflated in line with the parenchyma. You may have more uptake if your skin is youthful and elastic.
Testosterone will effect other changes in your body, such as increased muscle mass and body hair growth.
My honest opinion is that it won’t change your breasts that much. Top…

Hi,
You are still very early in your recovery, so i would recommend you wait a few months for your wounds and swelling to settle.
Re the indentation on your right chest- this looks like the lower edge of your pectoralis muscle (but I am making an educated guess given I can’t examine you). Breast tissue normally obscures this when present. This may indicate a thinner portion of your skin flap or an area of less swelling.

Ear piercing and Keloid scarring
Mar 26, 2018
Mar 26, 2018
Hi, Keloids can develop at any stage after trauma. Some people are predisposed to it because of genetics and race. There are other factors that increase the risk of developing a keloid such as slow or delayed healing and infection. Both of these keep the inflammatory process going longer than normal.
If you piercing has healed up well, you may as well leave the earring in. You’ve already sustained the trauma of the piercing and so will always have a risk of developing a…

Earlobe reduction
Mar 26, 2018
Mar 26, 2018
Hi, thanks for your question and picture. As others have said, you will still have some swelling at this stage of your recovery. From the scar on your ear, it looks as though you have had a horizontal wedge (like a slice of pizza) excision which extends out to just above the pointy part you are concerned about, so more tissue was taken close to your cheek and less in the region at the end of the scar. This may all settle with time, but if it doesn’t I think it will be due to…

Mar 26, 2018
Hi there, thanks for your question and pictures.
It is early in your recovery and you will still have significant swelling, so as suggested by others I would wait for your wounds to settle before further surgery.
You have significant vertical height in your lobes and this component does not look to have been reduced in your recent procedure. There are numerous methods of earlobe reduction, the most common is a vertical wedge, which you have likely had. Sometimes a horizontal…

Sun burn

Aug 22, 2017
Hi thanks for your question.
Mild sunburn it is unlikely to have caused any damage to your rhinoplasty. You will have redness, which will either resolve, tan or peel depending on your skin type. If you had an open rhinoplasty your scar will have been in shadow and is at low risk of developing pigmentation changes.
