Is it possible to do blepharoplasty after wearing tape about 1 year or more?
Tape for one year
Dec 2, 2018
I doubt that the tape for one year will cause a problem. I would ask you to wait 6 months before doing double eyelid surgery. I did operate on someone who had worn tape for over ten years and there was very abnormal anatomy that made the surgery quite difficult. So overuse of tape can cause problems.
Is there any help to treat my malar bags and festoons?
need better photos
Dec 2, 2018
It does look like you have some malar folds or bags. I do not agree that you need a transconjunctival blepharoplasty from these photos. Pictures taken from directly in front of you about 3 ft away in room lightwould let us see what is wrong with more clarity.Malar folds, bags, and festoons can be difficult to treat. Fillers generally do not help.. A midface lift can often solve that problem. There are also aggressive laser techniques that require several treatments. Injections of Doxycyline…
Will blepharoplasty open my eyes up?
Blepharoplasty with lifting of the sub-brow fat pad will help
Dec 2, 2018
An upper blepharoplasty will sculpt the fullness and improve the crease and flatten the space above your eyelashes. Imbrication of the orbicularis sometimes called a “brassiere” suture will lift the sub-brow fat out of your eyelids without a browlift. Upper blepharoplasty is generally done with local anesthesia or local and sedation. General anesthesia is not necessary.
Do I need transcutaneous or transconjunctival blepharoplasty and why?
Tranconjunctival vs Transcutaneous lower bleph
Sep 9, 2018
From your  pictures I see the wrinkling when you smile, and a deep hollow at the lid-cheek junction. With these issues you will probably find that every surgeon has a different procedure to offer you. You should make sure that the doctor has before-and-after photos showing eyelids like yours that the doctor repaired successfully. Transconjunctival surgery is particularly useful if the main problem is excess fat coming forward in the eyelid. I don’t think it will be the best approach for y…
3 weeks post upper blepharoplasty still have significant swelling, is this normal?
Swelling not seen in the photo
Sep 9, 2018
From the photos you look like a normal healing process for three weeks. Please be patient. That appears to be on track.
Where should I inject for drooping of nasolabial folds?
I agree that the cheeks could be treated
Jun 2, 2018
Your cheeks probably were never that full, but as we age they deflate and descend. I think a good injector could improve your appearance most efficiently by treating your cheeks.

Evaluation by an oculoplastic surgeon will be helpful
Jun 2, 2018
Ptosis surgery has a degree of variability and although the results are generally excellent some patients need a touch-up or adjustment. A scientific report  recently published by oculoplastic surgeons states that the need for adjustment occurs in 10% of patients. I think many us need to do that much less than 10% but any doctor who does enough ptosis repairs will need to do a revision occasionally. An examination by an oculoplastic surgeon will help you find out what might be the solution.
I need to have the “festoons” under my eyes at the top of my cheekbones lifted.
Midface lift can often treat festoons and malar bags
Jun 2, 2018
A lower blepharoplasty with midface lift is usually successful in improving or eliminating festoons and malar bags. Not every eyelid surgeon performs a midface or cheek lift. I have found it to be safe and effective in dealing with these aging problems.
How many times can Botox injections be given to a patient of hemifascial spasms?
Botox can be used for many years
Jun 2, 2018
There really is no limit to the amount of times a hemifacial or blepharospasm or cosmetic patient can be injected. Of course, the dose must be precise based on the effect desired, and the interval between treatments depends on the time it takes for the Botox to wear off. That time can vary between about 2 1/2 months to 5 or 6 months occasionally. Botox has been in use since about 1990 and in oculoplastics we have been injecting it for medical reasons (hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm) …
My eyelid crease is very thick and high after Asian double eyelid surgery. Scars are also visible,
It is still too early to judge
Jun 2, 2018
The thickness of your eyelid and the height of the crease is normal for a couple of weeks after surgery. Please be patient and allow more time for the healing process. Your result may be perfect. It is too early to judge at this point.
Under eye filler at 21? Too young?
Lower eyelid filler with Restylane might be a good idea
Mar 22, 2018
Your pictures really do not show enough and an in-person evaluation is necessary, but lower eyelid hollows can create a tired look even in your 20’s. Make sure you see a doctor who has experience with this procedure and can show you before and after photos of eyelids that look like yours.
Severe dry eye syndrome after getting Juvederm in tear trough, under eye area, and upper cheeks, a
It would be unusual and surprising if the lower eyelid filler caused dry eyes
Mar 22, 2018
Indeed the lower eyelid position if anything is raised when the lower lids are filled. If somehow the lower eyelid were lowered then perhaps the blink action to wet the cornea could be compromised, but this would be an unusual complication.  Hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler could be tried. There is no reason to be concerned about the effect of the hyaluronidase.
Radiesse for chin/jaw correction placement (into deep dermis or onto the bone)?
It can be placed in both locations
Mar 18, 2018
For the prejowl sulcus, the skin is often attached to the bone, so injecting in dermis has limited effect, and can be augmented by injection in the preperiosteal plane as well. Using both planes gives a better result in my experience.
One of my eyes looks bigger than the other, what are my options to make them more symmetrical (Pho
Ptosis
Feb 18, 2018
Your picture is not great since you are looking down, and is no substitute for an in-person examination, but it appears that you have ptosis of both upper eyelids with a higher crease or sulcus in right upper eyelid. I recommend a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon because we have the most experience and expertise in evaluating and treating ptosis.
Is my droopy eyelid fixable? And if I see blurry can my insurance cover it?
It depends on your insurance
Feb 3, 2018
From the look of your photograph, it appears borderline at best. Insurance ompanies generally want documentation including photographs and a visual field test which shows that there is a loss of perkpheral vision before they cover it.
