From U.S. Naval flight surgery in the Persian Gulf, to medical training at Harvard, to anesthesia in Miami, one thing has remained constant: my ardor for aesthetics and beauty. Thanks for your question, Caplainn. You are correct: much to many people’s chagrin (and to your delight), Botox in the forehead will drop the eyebrows. If you find a skilled injector who is willing to work with you, I would think you should have no problem accomplishing your goals with the injection of some neurotoxin. Best of luck!

Thanks for your question, Tanzmoon. I agree that Botox in this area will not give you the results for which you’re looking. I know you don’t want filler in your nasolabial folds (and I agree it could make you look even heavier in that area), but have you considered filler in the cheeks? That can often help lift the nasolabial fold. You could also look into some barbed, lifting PDO threads. Threads are nice in that there is essentially no downtime with immediate results. I think you’re exactly right: judging from your photos, it looks like a few lifting PDO threads would help those nasolabial folds that are just starting to get a bit heavy. For jaw and cheek definition, I believe some fillers would work great for you. PDO threads and filler work great together to lift and give that fresh, rejuvenated look! Of course nothing can replace the in-office consult, but judging from your photos, I believe you would be well served by threads and fillers. Good luck!

Thanks for reaching out, Desgracias. You could definitely start with dermal fillers. Fillers can make your cheekbones look lifted and they also often pull up some of the tissue that has gotten heavier in the lower face. If you feel your masseters might be a little large, that is usually easily fixed with some Botox (or other neurotoxin). Thanks for the question, Graceful. The photo is a little blurry, but that doesn’t look like the standard “lipstick” or “smokers” line. Also, most fine lines don’t suddenly appear overnight. That is something I would take to your PCP to determine if there is some underlying condition that is causing the defect.

Hi, Joellesk. I'm sorry you're unhappy with your results. That's never fun. The only way to begin to answer your question is to know what type/brand of filler was used on you. If it was one of the more common hyaluronic acid fillers, the answer is hyaluronidase. But I'm guessing that perhaps it was a different type?
