How can I get rid of the perioral fat mound or whatever the fatty thing is called next to my mouth? (Photo
Fatty thing next to mouth
Jun 17, 2019
Hello! I have recently over the last year had a lot of success injecting Kybella in that exact area to diminish that  fat pad. It will swell fairly aggressively for about 4-5 days, but after that, you should start seeing a nice result after 2 weeks. May need a second and third treatment for full treatment. Just one vial split between each side per treatment.
I am doing crossfit 4 days a week and I want to do a BA. Do you suggest under or over the muscle?
Under or over pectoralis muscle
Mar 6, 2018
It really depends on what type of CrossFit you are doing. When I place Breast implants underneath (or dual plane) the muscle, I restrict purposeful pectoralis major muscle work (push ups, bench press, flys) for at least 4-6 months after surgery. The reason for this is that with squeezing of the muscle, the implant will be pushed down and out. These are directions that in my opinion make the breasts appear aged and frankly ugly. So, if your priority is to get back to working out of the chest ...
Can fat be transferred to my earlobes?
Plumping up earlobes
Mar 3, 2018
You certainly could transfer fat to your earlobes, but personally, I would be in better favor of simply using an off the shelf filler (like Restylane or Juvederm). The metabolism in the area is minimal so fillers should last there for years. I also like fillers for that area because the control is better. Since you have 2 earlobes that you are presumably trying to match, fillers are much more predictable than fat grafting. Definitely seek an in person consult with a board certified plastic...
What does an earlobe reduction cost?
Earlobe reduction cost
Dec 26, 2017
Earlobe reduction, in isolation, runs about $1000 in my office. This is under local anesthesia. If there are other procedures being performed (such as a facelift) at the same time that necessitate being in an Operating room facility and the service of an anesthesiologist, the price will change. This price may or may not include further piercing of ears if placement of earring holes needs to change.
Is this much eye asymmetry normal? What are my options?
Brow asymmetry, not eye
Dec 17, 2017
It appears to me from the photo that your provided that it isn’t really your eyes that are different, rather your left brow is higher than your right brow so it pulls up on your left eyelid creating a wider appearance. I don’t know if you have Botox or other neurotoxins in your forehead, but sometimes this can be the cause. Our frontalis muscles are sometimes stronger on one side rather than the other, requiring more or less botox to balance it out. Surgically, you could have a browl...
Has anyone performed an upper blepharoplasty on someone who is highly nearsighted?
Blepharoplasty in High Myopes
Nov 8, 2017
I personally am a -14 High myope as well. My husband happens to be a retinal surgeon and states that his average patient who has a retinal detachment is a -3. Regardless, I have done countless blepharoplasties on patients with everything from normal visual acuity to extremely impaired so I get this question a lot. The simple answer is no, it will have zero affect on your vision in the hands of a plastic surgeon adept at dealing with eyelids. I always use the analogy that blepharoplasty is ...
What procedure did Kylie Jenner get to change her eyes?
What did Kylie Jenner do?
Nov 8, 2017
She definitely has had a lot of fillers in her upper cheeks that is propping up the outer corner of her eye. Beyond that, it is somewhat difficult to judge as this one photo taken this year could be mid blink. She appears to possibly had an upper blepharoplasty to remove a bit of upper eyelid skin which is why you see a wider upper eyelid in the recent photo. Unfortunately, if this photo is not mid-blink, she has also developed a mild ptosis (drooping) of her upper eyelid. “Bedroom eyes” is ...
Do you think I have ptosis? Is it fixable with exercises?
Yes, this appears to be mild ptosis
Sep 19, 2017
Hello, good for you for knowing the word "ptosis" as you have obviously done your research. While your ptosis on the left looks mild, you are also compensating for it by raising your brow (probably subconsciously). Unfortunately, we don't usually know what causes this, but acquired (meaning you were not born with it) ptosis can be straightforward to fix in a small scarless procedure. Best to have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in eyelid work.
I have a crooked smile and my right lower lip does not move, how can I fix my smile?
Asymmetric Smile
Aug 8, 2017
It looks like you were born with a paralyzed marginal mandibular nerve. There could be a hundred reasons for this and therefore a lot of options to treat depending on your appetite for dealing with it. The simplest would be to Botox the unaffected side. Using Botox to temporarily paralyze the opposite side is quick and easy, but will only last 3-4 months at a time. If you would rather try to figure out how to innervate the side that does not move when you smile, it becomes a lot more...
Uneven eyelids as of a few years ago, what can correct this?
Ptosis
Jul 3, 2017
Hello, it appears from your photo that you have mild ptosis of your right upper eyelid. You will notice that you are trying (probably subconsciously) to compensate for it by lifting your right brow. I see this in my practice often and treatment is fairly straightforward, but requires a test with an eye drop in the office. Be sure to see a board certified oculoplastics or plastic surgeon (with experience with eyelids) for an exam.
I want to know what type of surgery do I need in order to make my left eye look more like my right eye? (P
Reconstructive vs. cosmetic surgery
Jul 3, 2017
I'm glad to hear that the rumor has been respected and that hopefully you do not have any visual deficits from the tumor mass or surgery. You need a full in person evaluation with a board certified plastic surgeon (ideally with training in craniofacial surgery) to make judgement. This is not a straightforward "cosmetic" surgery. In a lot of ways, this is reconstructive surgery, but because this presumably would not be repairing a functional deficit (like vision), your health insurance may no...
Can a low TT scar be achieved after previous liposuction?
Staging mommy makeover
Jul 3, 2017
Good for you! You have clearly thought this through and done your homework. For someone who has enough fat to require aggressive liposuction that can be reused in a BBL, staging exactly as you wrote is the absolute safest and best way. You do not want to combine aggressive liposuction with a tummy tuck to secure good blood supply and ensure good wound healing at your eventual low incision. I would do lipo/BBL first as the TT/MR incision can always be inclusive of the small liposuction holes....
Different shaped eyelids - eyelid surgery?
Different shaped eyelids
Jul 1, 2017
Thank you for your photo! Based on what I can tell from your photo, it looks more like your brows are different, less so your eyelids. You may be better served with a browlift on one side to even it out, rather than eyelid surgery. Best to see a board certified plastic surgeon in person who is familiar with upper facial work to evaluate in person so that doctor can see how things change as you animate.
Can you have small facial fat graft (total 8cc) under local anesthesia?
Small volume fat transfer under local
Jun 29, 2017
Yes, this can most definitely be done especially if your surgeon understands facial nerve anatomy and how to do nerve blocks. We do this in my office all the time and it works out just fine. Often, I supplement with a oral Valium or Xanax to make the patient comfortable, but no need for and IV stick. I will caution you, though, that fat is not equivalent to fillers. 1 cc of most fillers will give you a much larger response than fat.
I am 47 and looking into a mommy makeover with breast lift, lipo and tummy tuck, but having problems findi
BMI over 30 and lipo-abdominoplasty?
Jun 28, 2017
Yes, I don't see why you can't have a tummy tuck with lipo and a breast lift as long as you are otherwise healthy and have good support to help you post op at home or willing to go to an aftercare center. Drainless tummy tuck is a bit trickier with high BMI, especially if there is going to be a decent amount of liposuction involved. With our current techniques for "drainless" abdominoplasty, at your BMI, you may still need a drain, but it usually comes out much faster (less than a week) c...
