Will Rhinoplasty fix septoplasty problems?
Treatments of septoplasty problems
Feb 21, 2023
Hi,I am so sorry you are struggling with these problems after your first surgery. When nasal passages constantly feel dry and bleed, often there is still some form of obstruction on the inside or sometimes a hole in the septum called a septal perforation. I would recommend getting evaluated by a facial plastic surgeon to see if you have any of these issues. A rhinoplasty can treat both and can actually open the size of the nasal airways even if the outside result is the nose looking smaller….
Chin lipo and buccal fat removal or just lipo?
Chin Lipo and Buccal fat removal
May 19, 2022
Hi,Thank you for the question. I have reviewed your photos and I think you would be a great candidate for buccal fat removal and chin liposuction. Lack of chin definition sometimes called a “double chin” is caused from what we call an obtuse cervical mental angle. This can be from several factors; excess adipose tissue in the neck, lack of chin projection or short setback chin, and or loss of skin elasticity or too much skin on the bottom of the neck. Based on your photos it looks like your…
Deep plane/SMAS facelift. What is the difference in technique with incisions in front of vs behind
Deep Plane/SMAS facelift
May 17, 2022
Hi,The main difference between a Deep plane and SMAS facelift is mostly just terminology used to describe the level and amount of dissection. Both operations typically require incisions in front and behind the ear. The length of the behind the ear incision can be shortened depending on technique of the surgeon.
A Deep Plane facelift typically describes a procedure where most of the dissection is preformed below the level of the skin in effort to raise the deeper layer of SMAS containing…
When do you know a rhinoplasty revision is inevitable?
Revision Rhinoplasty
Apr 26, 2022
Hi,I am very sorry you are not happy with the outcome of your surgery. I can see exactly what you are talking about in the photo. The bump is bone and or cartilage and it is not swelling. If you were originally happy with he outcome and now there looks like more of a hump it is because the tip of the nose has dropped. This is very common after endonasal or “closed” rhinoplasty. Endonasal rhinoplasty focuses primary on removing the dorsal hump and not on supporting the nasal tip frequently…
Hole on nostril after open Rhinoplasty – what can I do?
Healing incision after Rhinoplasty
Mar 28, 2022
Thank you for the question and the photo. I am sorry you are having issues with your incision. It looks like you had what we call an Alar Base Reduction as a part of your rhinoplasty. This is done to make the bottom part of your nose narrower and requires incisions like those on the side of the nose. The incisions usually heal very will but sometimes with the skin is sebaceous or has a lot of oil glands, the wound edges can pull away a little causing the appearance in the photo. This can…
Rhinoplasty before wedding – do I have enough time to recover?
Rhinoplasty before your wedding
Mar 10, 2022
Hi,First congratulations! This is actually a question that comes up a lot. Some of my happiest patients got their rhinoplasty less than a year before their wedding and were so happy they did. It gave them more confidence and they loved their wedding photos. To be safe I would give yourself 6 months but that should be plenty of time to achieve a nice result prior to your wedding. Looking at your photo I don’t see anything challenging about your nose and you have nice skin quality. I would see…
Buccal fat removal or Botox to make my face look less wide and chubby?
Buccal fat vs Botox
Feb 22, 2022
Thank you for the question and the photo. I can see the roundness of the face. My first though would be buccal fat removal. This small procedure can be done in the office in about 30 minutes and can cause a permanent reduction in the fat just to the side of the corner of the mouth. It can an amazing effect to thin the angle the face ( see the link to before and after photos below). Masseter hypertrophy can also lead to a similar issue, but usually causes more square facial lines. Botox can…
