It can be very scary to have a procedure done but the good news is that often the anticipation is actually worse than the procedure itself.Most patients are able to tolerate local freezing, after the small needle to freeze you, you won’t feel anything sharp. It would be very unlikely that an experienced surgeon at a reputable clinic would harvest from an unsafe area. There are many factors that can cause previously healthy grafted hairs to look less healthy – eg nutritional deficiency, thyroid issues, and potentially loss of nongrafted hairs in the same region leading to less density and the allusion of less healthy hair. I would suggest returning to your transplant surgeon for an in person evaluation – PRP treatments or oral treatments may help…

A responsible injector would not proceed with HA filler injections if hyaluronidase was not available for treatment of a vascular occlusion. Many alternatives to filler exist for rejuvenation that could be an option for a patient with hyaluronidase allergy including fat grafting.

Many of my colleagues have reported concerns about deep scarring and decreased vascularity during facelift in patients who have had multiple nonsurgical procedures – this is more likely with Sculptra, and treatments like RF microneedling, targeted ultrasound etc than with remote HA filler. I would not personally lift a facelift flap encompassing a region of current HA filler due to vascularity concerns. If you are considering facelift I recommend to my patients dissolving all fillers first…

An FUE hair transplant will allow the custom design of your hairline with no scars. A forehead reduction is also a reasonable option but it will leave a permanent scar so it is important to consider how your scars have healed from prior surgeries or injuries before adding a permanent scar to your face. Forehead reduction will also have more downtime than FUE.
