Would filler or Ultherapy be better for jowls starting to form?
Filler for jowls?
Oct 2, 2018
Hello and thank you for your question. From your photo you seem to have a little early jowling which can be addressed in several different ways. One method is not necessarily better than another but should be chosen on how much you want to spend, do you have any available downtime etc.  You have two issues;one is too much adipose tissue sagging in that area and one is a deficiency of bone.  You can treat this with Kybella to dissolve some of the fat and a filler such as Juvederm or R…
What is likely to happen if I get a facelift and liposuction on my neck but don’t lose weight fir
What will happen if I have a facelift and liposuction of the neck and then lose weight?
Sep 5, 2018
I usually recommend that patients be within 15-20 pounds of their goal weight to have a lower facelift. However, sometimes the weight loss just doesn’t occur fast enough or is just too difficult to attain.  The results obtained with a facelift/necklift procedure can be very dramatic and sometimes that facial improvement is all that a patient needs to accomplish the weight loss goals they desire.  In this case, there could be a small amount of submental or jowl laxity that recurs earlier t…
Should I get a facelift to correct fat grafting?
Uneven facial fat grafting – will facelifting help?
Sep 5, 2018
I am sorry that the facial fat transfer has left you feeling uneven. The photos are limited but I also agree that you do not appear to need a facelift. A facelift procedure is mostly for the jowls and neck area and you clearly have a well defined jaw and neck.  There does appear to be some hollowing under and over the eyes and some unevenness to the cheek areas.  The skin texture also seems to be deteriorating somewhat which can contribute to the uneven appearance. Off the shelf fillers, s…
Do I look like I even had a mini facelift? My face look worse than prior to surgery
Mini Facelift
Jan 24, 2018
I am sorry your surgery has not yet held up to your expectations.  It is difficult to analyze your photos from your one picture but you do still look to have some swelling in the cheek/eye area. This can “weigh down” the jowls and make them look more prominent. Also, in your headline you say you had a minifacelift but in the wording you mentioned a mid facelift?  These are two different things and would lead to dramatically different results.  As others have mentioned, it sounds like you ha…
Eye bags and dark circles. What kind of procedure would be good to get rid of these?
Lower eyelid dark circles
Jan 24, 2018
Thank you for your question.  There are several issues going on with your lower eyelids.  You have a fatty tissue protrusion and a hollowing over the orbital bone creating a depression.  Your bony structure of your face makes you more likely to age in this location than others who have a more prominent cheek lid bony junction. That is why you might feel your bags are so obvious when others of similar age are not. The best approach is multimodality and the longest lasting option would be a lo…
Does it look like I need a chin implant?
Do I need a chin implant?
Jan 23, 2018
Hello. Based upon your photos, it does appear that you could benefit from a chin implant.  In your pictures, I do not see too much dorsal nasal hump, therefore, correcting the deficiencies in the chin may also correct the appearance of your nose. I would start with a chin implant and then reevaluate your nose afterwards.  Another option is to see your facial plastic surgeon and choose someone who can manipulate your photos. That way you can “try on” the new look with your pictures before y…
Facelift vs fillers? Which will be best decision for a woman about to turn 50?
Fillers or facelift at age 50
Jan 23, 2018
This is a very good question and depends upon your budget and goals.  There are no pictures with which to reference but as a general rule, you would probably have a much better outcome if you just went ahead with the lower facelift.  However, if you have good skin tone and minimal jowling or “bumps” around your mouth, it is possible that fillers can give you a “liquid facelift” that will last about 1.5-2 years.  A liquid facelift does require several syringes of various fillers, say 4-8, an…
I had Juvederm injected and 18 months later most of it is still there, can it be dissolved?
Can Juvederm be dissolved?
Jan 23, 2018
Hello.  Fortunately, all hyaluronic fillers can be dissolved.  Fillers in the under eye and lateral eye area can last for a very long time and cause problems as you age.  I am sure the MD who placed the filler would not have given you a different product than stated, so it should be able to be dissolved.  The answer to your question is yes, the filler can still be dissolved and a different type of filler can be placed at a later date. Your face will need to be evaluated after the current fil…
Is it possible to sweat out ALMI fat transfer injections?
Fat transfer
Jan 19, 2018
Hello, with a fat transfer to the face, the fat that was moved will behave like fat in the location where it was harvested. In general weight changes of 10 pounds or more will have an effect on fat in the face, grafted or not. Also, while weight loss and getting in shape is very good for the body and mind, too much will definitely have an adverse effect on the face. This is more noticeable as we age so if you are under 40 years of age, these changes may be minimal.  Best of luck to you.
Will PRP help regrow my baby hairs on my hairline?
PRP for hair loss
Jan 19, 2018
Hello. I would suggest you give your treatments a little longer before determining that you have not responded.  I also recommend 6 monthly treatments followed by 1 treatment every 3 months after that. You should definitely be on a protocol including the Viviscal marine supplement and perhaps even prescription topicals or medications or hormonal therapy, depending on the situation. Not everyone responds to this treatment but many do. Good luck!
What should be recommended for smoothing out my forehead? Botox, fillers, etc
Dent in Forehead
Jan 18, 2018
As others have suggested, Botox should be your first treatment and then see if there is enough improvement.  If not, there are a variety of fillers that would be perfect in this location and fortunately, they all last a long time in this location. Microneedling with or without PRP would help the scarring. Good luck to you!
Can this under bags eyes be fixed? Since adolescence I’ve been having problems with puffy eyes. (
Lower eyelid bags
Jan 16, 2018
Your genetics are likely the cause of the early bags under the eyes.  You do have several options though.  A surgical procedure as mentioned in other answers would solve your problem for the long term.  It can be done through your lower eyelid from the inside, avoiding an outside skin incision. You appear to be a very good candidate for this. The results are very long lasting. I have performed this procedure on many patients in their late 20’s for similar reasons and they are very happy wi…
Botox brow lift? I’m a 38 year old female in Colorado. I take good care of my skin.
Botox Brow Lift
Jan 16, 2018
As others have said, Botox is a very good option for patients like yourself.  Other than surgery there is really no other option to create symmetry of your eyebrows and eyes, so why not give it a try? I very much recommend going to an experienced injector, preferably an MD because injecting in the wrong place could very well make the situation worse.  Ultimately I would recommend an upper blepharoplasty and endoscopic browlift because you are young and this would enhance your appearance f…
Is there a problem with Bellafill?
Bellafill
Jan 15, 2018
As others have already said, Bellafill is a long term filler and some MD’s are wary of placing it patient’s faces because of this.  I have been an injector of Bellfill for over a year now and have seen very nice, long lasting results.  The doctor does have to have very good, sterile technique, and a good artistic eye since this filler cannot “technically” be removed once placed.  However, don’t let that frighten you because a good injector knows there are almost always techniques ava…
Half of my face after Sculptra injection is still swollen, it does not subside. Could this be per
Sculptra issues
Jan 15, 2018
At only three days post injection, any swelling or asymmetry that you see is almost certainly related to the lidocaine and secondary edema from the injection.  One’s face swelling does not always resolve symmetrically. One side will usually be a little different from the other with regards to swelling from any filler. While it can be disconcerting to see your face so different from side to side, try not to worry at this point because the sculptra has not had time to stimulate collagen yet an…
