Why do opinions vary from doctor to doctor regarding the best treatment for loose neck skin a
facelift option
Oct 6, 2021
The terminology used can be very confusing to patients. It is important to understand that a facelift traditionally addresses the lower half of the face, not the whole face. It will lift the jowl, bringing the volume up toward the cheek, improve the marionette lines, tighten the jawline and improve neck contour. Based on your photos, any isolated neck procedure is not going to adequately address your jowls and jawline. I would recommend that whoever you consult with that you clearly...
How do people with dry eyes have a facelift?
dry eyes and facelift
Oct 6, 2021
A facelift should have no impact on your dry eyes. Dry eye is not a contraindication to a facelift, just be careful if you will be doing surgery on the eyes.
How soon can I get facelift after rhinoplasty?
facelift timing after rhinoplasty
Oct 6, 2021
There is not a definite answer but you should wait till sutures are removed and healed as progressed enough that your face is not very swollen from rhinoplasty. I would recommend on month between the surgeries. If the facelift is being done first then I am willing to do the surgeries a little closer together.
What type of neck/facelift would be best for loose neck and nasolabial folds? Can a skin only
facelift option
Oct 6, 2021
Facelifts do not make a significant impact on the nasolabial folds, especially the upper portion near the nose. Facelifts are most effective at lifting the jowl, improving the marionette lines, tightening the jawline and neck. You should not have a facelift where the skin is being pulled tight. A lift that relies on the skin will result in a pulled appearance, will not last due to the skin elasticity and can result in wide scars due to tension on the incision. The pull should be on...
Can having a facelift cause or reveal under eye bags?
effect of facelift on lower lids
Oct 6, 2021
A facelift should not impact the degree of fat prominence of the lower lids. In theory if the area below it is improved from a facelift it could be that you are noticing the bags more. Alternatively, if the "bags" are actually on the cheek, and triangular in shape, this could be a malar mound that you are noticing. Malar mounds are not caused by under eye fat, but can temporarily worsen due to facial swelling following facelift.
Is it time for a full facelift/rhino or can do I need something like a lower facelift? (photo
facelift vs lower facelift
Oct 6, 2021
A facelift will tighten your jawline, lift the jowls and improve neck contour. A full facelift does not address your upper face, the changes are primarily in the lower half of the face. You are a good candidate, fillers are unlikely to create the type of youthful jawline you are lookin for.
Lopsided, asymmetrical jaw. Will facial fat transfer help?
fat transfer for jawline
Apr 6, 2021
Fat transfer works very well for correcting jawline contour. Frequently, when building up the lateral jawline I will need to do more than one fat transfer to get the ultimate degree of augmentation.
5 months post op, don't see much of a difference after upper eyelid surgery. Am I being too u
creating a more youthful upper eyelid
May 15, 2019
It does appear that there is less skin in the upper eyelid but that there is room to remove more skin laterally.  My goal in creating a youthful upper eyelid is creating a more parallel relationship between where the lid fold is and the lash line below.  On your photos, even more so on the afters, you can see an upward notching of the inner aspect of the lid fold (an A-frame deformity); there is a greater distance between lash line and lid fold in the inner aspect than in the outer aspect.  ...
Best way to tighten skin under eyes and cheeks and reduce dark circles under eyes?
Dark circles under eyes
Sep 22, 2018
The darkness of the lower lid skin in the tear trough is a combination of several factors.  First the skin is very thin, and it is usually pigmented due to the visibility of the muscle and vessels just below the skin; therefore it is not usually improved with superficial skin treatments.  The color is usually exaggerated by shadowing due to either volume loss in the tear trough and/or prominent lower lid fat.  In your case, with a history of restylane injections, the filler could po...
Huge eye bags and tear trough. What treatment should I go for?
Tear trough and lower blepharoplasty
Sep 22, 2018
The appearance of your lower lids is a function of both the protrusion of lower lid fat as well as volume deficiency in the area of lower orbital rim.  It is difficult to assess cheek volume in the photos you have posted.  Based on your photo is appears your best result would come from lower lid trans conjunctival blepharoplasty to reduce the amount of fat pushing out, combined with a fat transfer to the lower lid and possibly to the cheeks.  My preference for fat transfer vs tr...
Which surgery would be best to lengthen my jaw: genioplasty or jaw surgery?
Chin implant
Sep 22, 2018
Chin implant with silastic implants provide a very nice augmentation of the chin. This will give you significant improvement of your jawline contour.
Does it appear that I have a hanging columella?
Revision rhinoplasty for hanging columella
Sep 22, 2018
It is difficult to fully assess based on the limited photograph.  From what I can see, I would not necessarily categorize this as a hanging columella, which generally refers to mid columella hanging down and causing excessive nostril visibility.  Instead, it appears as if the base of the columella is pushed down, such that it makes the distance between nose and upper lip shorter than ideal.  It also creates a relatively over rotated appearance to the nose.  This could very well be imp...
What can be done for an “over projected nose tip”?
Rhinoplasty
Sep 22, 2018
You can definitely achieve a very nice natural result.  Your nasal tip is over projected, long and the bulkiness of the tip (lower lateral) cartilage is visibly creating the fullness.  Rhinoplasty performed correctly can create the type of nose you would like such that it is proportional to the rest of your facial features which are more refined.
if I have the fat transfer to the lips done a second time would it work?
Lip augmentation with fat
Sep 22, 2018
Having performed many fat transfers I can tell you that you are likely to be disappointed if you try and augment lips or fill marionette lines with fat.  Fat is a very good option for adding volume in much of the face, but not in the two areas you are concerned with.  You are going to get a much better and predictable result using injectable fillers.  The issue is that approximately 30% of the fat injected will last.  In the lips the amount of volume needed tends to be small and the des...
Would I be a good candidate for tip refinement?
Tip rhinoplasty
Sep 22, 2018
From what I can see on the photo your nasal tip can absolutely be more refined.  More photos and in person consultation will allow better assessment so as to be able to predict the degree of refinement.
