What rhinoplasty procedure would be the best for my nose?
Rhino approach

Sep 4, 2023
The type of rhinoplasty is often dependent on the surgeon and what works best for them. Depending on your desired appearance, the needed surgical maneuvers can be determine. Neither technique would / should case nasal blockage, but it is important to go to a surgeon who understands the techniques and approaches that not only favorably change the shape of the nose but also retain ability to breathe from the nose.

A revision could help

Sep 4, 2023
Thank you for sharing. Certainly, agree with you regarding your assessment of your nose. A revision rhinoplasty would potentially allow to correct these issues. In particular, you would want to have the nose straighter and the lower portion of the nose decreased of width and projection.
Would a rhinoplasty help balance my face?
Upper jaw surgery
Sep 4, 2023
Sep 4, 2023
Thank you for the question. The upper jaw surgery (maxilla surgery) typically does alter the area of the lower nasal septum. It can therefore change the shape of the nose. Without pictures, it is difficult to tell what is going on, but you may be a good candidate for a rhinoplasty given the changes to the nose.

Loss of midvault nasal support
Sep 4, 2023
Sep 4, 2023
You may have loss of nasal midvault definition and support, based on your photos. It appears that there is lack of definition in that area and that may be a tell-tale sign of developing inverted v deformity. It is best to reach out to your surgeon to see of spreader grafts or suspension of the lateral wall was performed.

Thank you for the question. Sometimes the bone can have a reaction of inflammation while healing and produce a bump. I recommend a gentle massage with your finger a few times a day. This may help.
Bloody, fleshy pink lump in nostril
healing issue
Sep 3, 2023
Sep 3, 2023
Thank you for the question, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this difficulty. It looks like there is some sort of inflammation / mild infection present and the incision at that location is not healing effectively. It is difficult to give advice base on photos alone. I recommend you see a physician for an examination to properly diagnose the issue.
Is there a risk of developing ENS (empty nose syndrome) during a septoplasty?
Empty nose syndrome
Sep 3, 2023
Sep 3, 2023
Thank you for your question. Having one over a thousand functional rhinoseptoplasties / rhinoplasties, I can tell you that the risk of empty nose syndrome is very, very, very low. This was more an issue previously when surgeons would remove the entire or portions of the turbinate. This is not common practice any longer, and therefore the risk of empty nose syndrome has reduced massively. ENS is more prevalent on the internet than real risk present. The technique I use (and I reduce…
