Recovery from a Rhinoplasty procedure is quite comfortable with most patients only requiring pain medication for the first 24hrs post procedure. Upon waking from surgery, your nose will be covered with a splint (which you may need to wear for up to one week). I would ask Guy Massry, definitely the best best for revision cases. I would think the excess skin can be removed carefully and the incision line softened with non-surgical modalities.
Polly beak deformity? I had an open rhinoplasty 5 months ago

I would say the dorsal cartilage was under resected. This is very slight, technically this is the cause of a Polly beak deformity. This is usually an easy fix can be done without having to open the nose again and often I would do this under local and sedation.
Just had nasal splint removed after rhinoplasty, and unhappy with results

Everyone is different, keep in mind not many people with excess swelling are going to post their experience. It is way to early to make any decisions give it at least a month for big things and 6 months for finer details.
