Thank you for your question . As my two esteemed colleagues stated a vaginalplasty will take between 1-2 hours to perform, Depending on the extent that is required . I absolutely agree with and echo what they both said . You make return to work after 3-5 days . In my experience taking a week off to rest is best however. Difficulty urinating after a vaginalplasty is common. As the other doctor stated there is tissue swelling around the urethra that can obstruct the flow of urine . Your physician should be able to show you how you can self cathetetize at home to help keep you comfortable while the tissue continues to heal. This should resolve within a few days . Bruising after labialplasty is very common . From what I see on your picture that amount of bruising is not unusual . It should gradually resolve and should not effect the final results . That amount of bruising will take some several weeks to resolve completely . Some things you can do to help the bruising resolve faster is the use of arnica in pill form and topical cream or gel . Also eating pineapple or drinking pineapple juice can also also help .

From what I can tell, you look normal. If you somehow feel different since the abortion, see a gynecologist to perform an exam to try to determine why it doesn’t feel right. Also, if the abortion was recent, you may just need some time to recover from the procedure but I still encourage you to see a gynecologist .

You look completely normal. Every woman’s vagina looks different and as Dr Haws stated there is great variation in the female anatomy .
