Statement: Dr. Charles S. Lee is a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in Beverly Hills, California. He specializes in facial aesthetics, such as eyelid enhancement, rhinoplasty, and facelifts.

Dr. Lee has a special interest in Asian aesthetic plastic surgery and is a trailblazer in the field. He was one of the first surgeons in North America to use Botox to slim the jawline of Asian patients and treat teeth grinding. As a respected authority of Asian-focused facial plastic surgery, Dr. Lee has lent his vast knowledge of the subject to various medical textbooks, courses, presentations, and panels.

After earning his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Lee completed the facial, head, and neck surgery residency program at Loma Linda Medical Center in southern California. He then trained under renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Ralph Millard during a fellowship at the University of Miami, and became an associate with Robert Flowers Oculoplastic and Aesthetic Surgery in Honolulu, before opening his own Beverly Hills plastic surgery practice.

Dr. Lee holds a prestigious double board-certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology.

With over 20 years in practice, Dr. Lee is proud to have built a career in aesthetic surgery and loves nothing more than to help patients reach their goals. “It’s a rewarding career and an art that improves patients’ quality of life every day,” he says.

Do I have ptosis in my left eye?
ptosis
Jan 19, 2023
Hello I believe it can be fixed. Your left eye might has ptosis causing the asymmetry. Give us a call at 310.271.5954 or text at 310-779-5488 to book a consultation!
Best angles to evaluate the results in rhinoplasty before and after photos?
Before and After Pictures
Jan 17, 2022
Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. What I find with side pictures is that oftentimes patients are looking for subtle changes mostly to the height of their nose or a more defined tip which is not as easy to see from the frontal view.
How to make a long face shorter?
Chin shortening surgery
Jan 5, 2021
The chin can be reduced in height by removing a wafer of bone and plating the remaining bones together with microplates. A side view will help determine whether the bone should be moved slightly forward before plating it. I usually do it from inside the mouth but it can also be done from under the chin.
Is it possible for me to get Adrian Lima's eye shape?
cat-eye look
Feb 12, 2020
The exotic upward slant to the eye area is accomplished by a combination of lateral canthopexy, in which the outside corner of the eyes are attached to a higher position along the eye socket. To prevent crowding in this outer area, a temple lift is performed at the same time in order to create the outer area "sweep".
What is this lump after blepharoplasty 2 years ago and how should I treat it?
Lump after tightening the outer eye corners
Feb 11, 2020
If you are unable to contact the original surgeon, my best guess is that a permanent suture was used to anchor the eyelid corner to the orbital bone. The suture can be removed under local anesthesia in most cases. The skin in this area is very thin so it's not unusual for a permanent suture to show through.
Is it OK to get under eye fillers before having ptosis surgery?
under eye filler and ptosis surgery
Feb 5, 2020
Undereye filler should not interfere with upper eyelid ptosis surgery. If your surgeon offers this procedure, you could also consider micro fat grafting the lower lid area if you are already undergoing surgery.
One eye is more hooded and droopy than the other. What options are available to correct this?
you have mild ptosis
Feb 4, 2020
The left eye muscle is not opening as well as the right side - this is corrected by reinserting the muscle more tightly to the lid cartilage. Your brows will descend as a result of this surgery, since your brows will not need to pull so much to help the eyes see better. The drop will occur over both eyes. Hence, the excess skin should be done on both eyes, in anticipation of the brow descent. If you like the current position of the brows, then a brow suspension will need to be performed to p...
Is mandible contouring and/or V line surgery compromised by past dental work or bad teeth?
Bad teeth and jawline contouring
Feb 4, 2020
As long as there isn't any active infection or abscess at the teeth roots, I would proceed with the surgery. If you have any loose teeth, let the anesthesiologist know - it would be better if everything were stabilized prior to surgery.
30 year old female. Can I have revision of blepharoplasty after development of hard nodule und
hard nodule after lower lid surgery
Feb 3, 2020
It appears to be displaced lower lid fat that was transposed into the tear trough groove. The easiest fix for this is to go back in and remove a little bit of the bulging fat. I would wait at least to the three month mark, possibly 6mo before doing this. Probably best would be to have your original surgeon do this since he knows what was done. The next surgeon should get a copy of the operative report before doing a revision, if you choose to go to another surgeon.
Would I be a good candidate for a chin implant and under chin lipo?
chin implant and neck lipo
Jan 28, 2020
Yes, you look like a great candidate for the two procedures. The chin implant will help stretch out the skin so that it will be tighter, and the neck lipo will further improve the neck contour. Your chin only needs anterior projection (not vertical change) so that puts you into the category of patients that do well with chin implantation.
Are my brows high enough for an upper bleph only?
Brow and upper bleph together would be best
Jan 21, 2020
You can ask yourself what is the reason you are seeking eyelid surgery. In your photo, you don't have much skin overhang and they don't look saggy. Why? Your forehead is actively pulling the excess skin out of your line of vision. If a surgeon is proposing to remove excess upper lid skin, they are going to tell you to relax your forehead so they can see how much skin excess you have. Your brows will drop significantly. You can capture a photo of your self with the brows in a relaxed position...
Is there a superior suture material and technique for better upper blepharoplasty results?
running sutures vs interrupted.
Jan 13, 2020
On patient with thin skin, typically Northern European background, a buried running suture can work well. For other ethnicities with somewhat thicker skin, I prefer a combination of interrupted and running sutures. Interrupted sutures give a more precise closure but are tedious (and tender) to remove, so a running is combined to reduce the need for interrupteds that run full length.
What method of revision ptosis surgery is needed because suspected levator muscle separation f
ptosis caused by levator dehiscence
Jan 13, 2020
The photo does suggest you have levator disinsertion ptosis. Correction involved a skin incision in the crease and suturing the levator muscle to the tarsus. It would be interesting to see your preoperative photo to determine if there was a preexisting condition that was missed.
Is it the best idea to have secondary Asian rhinoplasty with the previous doctor?
revision of Asian rib rhinoplasty
Jan 13, 2020
The number of surgeons experienced in Asian rib rhinoplasty is fairly small. Revision rhinoplasty fall into two categories: major and minor. Minor revisions are generally best handled by the primary surgeons - slight asymmetry, slight irregularity, etc. If a major revision is needed, which is basically the need to redo the entire rhinoplasty, then you need to figure out what led to the problem. In a case like yours in which the tip remains too bulbous, the tip will need more projection. ...
I have noticed that my face is not symmetrical, do I have ptosis?
You have bilateral ptosis
Jan 13, 2020
Yes, you have ptosis in both eyes. The asymmetry most people notice will be in the brows which retract upwards secondarily in order to mitigate the effect of ptosis. For most people, the starting point of the right brow is typically lower than the left. Your left brow is a bit higher than would normally be expected, due to the asymmetric ptosis. Correction will improve the brow asymmetry, but for full improvement, ptosis surgery would need to be combined with a differential pull of the brows...
