Statement: Dr. Lawrence Iteld is a highly regarded, board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of Iteld Plastic Surgery in Chicago. He offers a broad range of surgical procedures using cutting-edge techniques, as well as nonsurgical aesthetic procedures for men and women.

“My goal is to design individualized treatment plans that help my patients achieve long-lasting, natural results,” says Dr. Iteld.

With a strong emphasis on patient safety, Dr. Iteld offers narcotics-free surgery for most procedures. This includes all breast procedures (including male breast reduction), tummy tucks, liposuction, Brazilian butt lifts, and arm, thigh, and body lifts. A carefully planned approach that Dr. Iteld spent years perfecting, narcotics-free surgery reduces the need for prescription pain management, improving recovery time and results. “At Iteld Plastic Surgery, our philosophy is to prevent pain before it occurs,” explains Dr. Iteld. “This removes the need for opioid-narcotics during recovery.”

His technique includes the use of anti-inflammatory medications, anti-nausea drugs, and long-lasting local anesthetics. Together, they allow you to recover with only mild discomfort, which can be alleviated by over-the-counter medication.

After graduating magna cum laude from Rutgers College, Dr. Iteld earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine, graduating with distinction in medical research. He completed a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and a fellowship in oncologic and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s department of plastic surgery.

Dr. Iteld is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Iteld is a clinical associate in plastic surgery at the University of Chicago. Before returning to Chicago, Dr. Iteld was an assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Miami.

A fluer-de-lis is recommended for patients who have excess tissue both vertically and horizontally, as demonstrated in these images. A traditional tummy tuck will remove the vertical excess but will leave some transverse laxity. For some patients this is an acceptable result since the scar burden is lower. For others, they are willing to accept the additional scar to get the best contour. The choice is very individual. Please discuss with your surgeon(s).

Facial asymmetry is universal- everyone has some degree of variation between the left and right sides of their face. If there are significant changes over time, it is important to rule out an infection or mass (which was done). It is normal to have some asymmetry of the breasts/ nipples after surgery. We all have some height and side-to-side differences prior to surgery and this can be highlighted after surgery. As long as implants are symmetrical (which they are) there is not much to do about the subtle differences. It would be useful to look at your pre-op images to identify your original asymmetries.

It appears that you have a mild lower pole constriction with a mild size asymmetry, but your nipples are in a reasonably favorable position. Fat transfers would be an option if your goal is for a mild increase in size- 1/2 to 1 bra cup size. If you want a larger increase in size, it may be difficult to achieve with fat. The lower pole can be partially releases using needle techniques that have been well described for breast reconstruction.
