It can take up to 12 months for the breast to soften and settle after breast lift surgery with implants. You need to be patient and gradually ease back into your regular routine. Make sure you use lots of moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated to help address the itching. If your symptons persist you should arrange a review with your Plastic Surgeon.

At this stage of your post operative recovery tightness and numbness should be starting to subside. Numbness can persist for a significant amount of time after surgery so this may well be normal. You should continue to follow your surgeons instructions – the anti inflammatory medication you have been prescribed may assist.

You should simply follow your surgeons post operative guidelines carefully for the best result. This type of wound breakdown is common after breast lift surgery and while it can look alarming it typically heals well without any further medical intervention.
