Statement: Dr. Adam G. Tattelbaum, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Rockville, Maryland. He’s been in practice for over 25 years and specializes in mommy makeovers, breast enhancements, and tummy tucks at his Maryland plastic surgery center.

Dr. Tattelbaum grew up in the home of an artisan, and these early experiences are what eventually drew him to aesthetic surgery. “My mother was a jeweler, sculptor and creative force in my life. I always knew that I too would work with my hands aesthetically as a career. The tools I used in her workshop are surprisingly similar to the same tools I use today, only the medium is far more complex,” he explains. “I love seeing the results of my surgeries. There is an immediate gratification even on the operating room table in plastic surgery. Mainly, I love making patients look and feel normal again.”

Upon graduation from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Tattelbaum obtained his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. There, he received honors in his plastic surgical rotation.

After, Dr. Tattelbaum completed three residencies: a surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, a plastic surgery residency at Georgetown University, and a second plastic surgery residency at Harvard University. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Surgery (General) and American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition to his private practice, he is also a member of the clinical faculty at Georgetown and an attending physician at many regional hospitals.

When asked what sets his practices in McLean, Virginia and Rockville, Maryland apart from others, Dr. Tattelbaum points to his passion for teaching. “I try to distill 25 years of experience into concepts that my patients can easily understand. I love to see the lightbulbs go off in my patients’ heads as they better understand what they are considering.” He takes the time to ensure that his patients understand the details of the procedure. “One might think that all the details are frightening, but I find the opposite. The more my patients understand, the more gratifying their experience becomes.”

He also underscores what a personal decision it is to choose a surgeon. “It’s about the right fit for both the patient and the doctor.” Because of this, he tries to create a relaxed atmosphere, with no high-pressure sales tactics. “My practice is not filled with fanfare. There are no closers or sales people. My consultations are educational and realistic. My simple goal is that patients learn the important details so that they can make informed decisions.”

Dr. Tattelbaum says, “I treat each of my patients as I would treat a member of my own family and only make the kind of recommendations to them that I would make to someone dear to me. I believe that it is just as important to point out when patients do not need a particular procedure as when they do.”

Dr. Tattelbaum has received membership into the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He’s also been the recipient of numerous awards, including being recognized as one of the Top Plastic Surgeons by Washingtonian magazine and one of America’s Top Surgeons by Consumer Research Council of America.

You look slender and fit. Based upon your skin laxity think tummy tuck. When skin is loose removing fat just makes it looser. Tummy tuck removes both the excess skin and fat. Your PS will have to guide you to which type of TT by ascessing how much loose skin you have.

Thanks for your question and the photos. You have a little bit of droop, but not a lot, and a little bit of assymetry, but with the nipples facing frontally. Based on your photos I think you will do ok with just implants as long as you are ok with still having some normal natural assymetry and you pick a reasonably sized implant. Your PS can guide you. When implants are below the muscle they dont fill out the breast right away, that can take a few months to settle so be prepared for that....

Thanks for your question. Mommy makeover can mean a lot of things and may include tummy, breast liposuction and even other surgeries. Even if were just a tummy tuck these things would be dangerous to do under local. Too much local anesthesia can be toxic.

Thanks for your question. In slender patients the belly button looks more superficial because there is nothing deep to "pull it into". That said sometimes the bally button can be tackd down more. It is also possible that you may have a small umbilical hernia pushing the belly button outward. If so fixing that may help. Either way your PS will have to examine you determin what may help best.

Thanks for your question. It is generally not the implant that changes after pregnancy, but rather the natural breast tissue that overlies the implant. Pregnancy is a game changer for the natural breasts. Some will swell and shrink and need nothing, but in many cases this swelling and shrinking leads to drooping of the breast beneath the implant. A patient with a little droop might do nothing and even look a bit more natural. With excessive droop a patient may consider a lift or mastopexy....

When can I get a revision for my areola reduction?

It is not uncommon to revise an areolar reduction. In this surgery it is common for the areola to dilate once again and /or the scar to widen. This is because this type of tightening has a "Radial Tension" that want to pull away fron the center. It is best to wait untill all the tissues have fully relaxed and the scar is fully matured-- at least six months if not more.

Thank for your question and the photos. You demonstrate significant skin laxity. Unfortunately the really is no non invasive device that adequately tightens enough to correct this. Liposuction which removes volume would just make it worse. Your ps will guide you to a mini or full TT depending upon you degree of laxity in a pinch test. Hope this helps

If you want implants you appear to be a good candidate and you have pleanty of time, but only you can decide if it's worth it to you. It is good to consider childbearing in the future because nothing changes breasts more, with or without implants, than giving birth. Some might wait until after childbearing at this point when all breast changes are complete.

From this one photo your eyes are beautiful and your concern is very subtle. I agree that you should not do anything surgical. With a skilled injector you could try a touch of botox to the outer underneath aspect of the right eye brow, the crows feet area. Weakening this muscle will sometimes accomplish a chemical browlift. start small if at all. If you dont like the result botox will wear off.

Thanks for your question. If an implant is under the muscle it can only go as far to the middle as the muscles will allow. Above the muscle if an implant is too close to the middle it can lead to synmastia or breadloafing. Because the implant can only go so far to the middle the remainder has to go out under the arms. An appropriate amount of curve will balance nicely with the curve of the hips, but too wide will make you look top heavy, thin the skin too much and have more implant...

Nipples come in all shapes ans sizes. By no means are you abnormal. If you did wish to diminish the projection of your nipples, nipple reduction is a small surgery that can be performed under local anesthesia. The skin around the outside of the nipple is peeled away and the remaining stalk is tucked back into the breast tissue.

Thanks for your question. When an implant is removed a large space is left behind. You would not want that space to fill with fat. Fat grafting only works when the fat is embedded within the existing fatty tissue of the breast. Fat in the old implant pocket would not survive and likely cause issues. Thanks for your question. Implants alone would increase your volume and give you some elevation, but that same breast would still be living on top of the implant. To change the shape you would likely need a lift. Which kind of lift would depend on the size of the implant you choose.
