Doctors

Myung Ju Lee, MD, PhD

Name: Myung Ju Lee, MD, PhD
Statement: Dr. Myung Ju Lee is a board-certified plastic surgeon in South Korea. He specializes in facial plastic surgery, with a focus on autologous rhinoplasty, which uses the patient’s own cartilage and focuses on the full balance of the face. He is also known for his expertise in body contouring procedures.

Dr. Lee believes that the key principle of plastic surgery is to express creativity in the same manner that a visual artist would in his art, blended with technical expertise. He also believes that plastic surgery can bring out each individual’s natural beauty as well as enhance their self-confidence. At his practice, VIP International Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Lee and his staff provide the highest level of safety and care for patients, throughout their entire surgical experience.

When Dr. Lee was in high school, he became interested in the study of medicine, particularly in aesthetics and cosmeceuticals. This eventually led him to plastic surgery—the perfect arena to express his artistic talents. He earned his bachelors, masters, and medical degree from Chosun University, College of Medicine in Gwangju metropolitan city, and his PhD from Jun Nam University. Dr. Lee also completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Chosun University.

Over his 30-year career, Dr. Lee has achieved many milestones, including being the first plastic surgeon in Korea to perform and practice both the autologous rib cartilage rhinoplasty and the high-SMAS facelift, which lifts and repositions both the skin and underlying muscle layer, for more natural-looking and longer-lasting results.

He has served as a chief doctor and instructor for various hospitals and universities, including posts as clinical professor at the Chosun University School of Medicine and the Inje University School of Medicine.

He is a member of several prestigious associations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.

Answer Snippet
What type of face lift do I need?
Facelift recommendations
Aug 8, 2023
There are many different types of facelift and its’ techniques. While there are many different non-surgicals and surgical methods, I would like to recommend extended deep plane facelift for a long lasting result. Extended deep plane facelift effectively pulls the anterior part of the loosen skin on the front cheek. This is effective to the concerned areas. I would recommend you to have a thorough consultation to better understand what to expect after your surgery. Thank you.
Does endoscopic face lift change eye shape?
Facelift and eye shape
Aug 8, 2023
While facelift does not directly interfere on the eyelid or eye shape, depending on the dissecting area, skin around the eyes may be pulled in facelift surgery. Depending on the technique and the dissection area it will vary, but may have minor difference.I would recommend you to discuss with your surgeon about the dissection area of your facelift surgery. Thank you
Is one month post-op too soon to travel after a facelift?
Flying after facelift
Aug 2, 2022
Depending on the surgery scale and each individual’s healing process, travel limitations may differ. It is best to ask your surgeon about the travel limitations. Usually my facelift patients can fly after 2weeks, but there may be some swelling and bruises left. I recommend patients to avoid water contact, excessive sports, and sauna for about 2months. It will be helpful to prepare emergency medication for your trip. Thank you.
Facelift or filler: which would you suggest to give me a younger look?
Facelift and Filler
Aug 2, 2022
Facelift and filler basically has two different functions:where facelift is essentially used to lift up the loosen skin, filler is used to give more volume to the depressed area.
While it is hard to see an accurate condition from the photos uploaded, a combination of lifting procedure and volume fat grafting may help achieve a younger look.
Asymmetrical double eyelid lines after surgery. Will it even out?
Eyelid surgery recovery period
Sep 19, 2019
Eyelid is a very sensitive area and you may see unevenness during your recovery period. The swelling will continuously go down as time goes, and will even out. As post 11 days is too early for you to see the result, I would recommend you to wait until you fully recover from the surgery.
