This patient came to us shortly after having braces removed and she was very upset and bothered by the white and brown rough spots, halos, and crescent marks that developed around the brackets and near the gumline while she was wearing braces. These are the earliest phase of decay and appear frosty white and/or stained due to the porous makeup of the enamel after the decay process begins. Without any shots, pain, or drilling these areas were treated with ICON, a clear resin that flows into the porous enamel and takes on its shape and shade making it virtually invisible after we completed the treatment.
