A 33-year-old mother of two who visits for breast revision surgery. She has had four previous surgeries for breast capsular contraction and breast implant malposition. In 2007, she underwent sub-muscular placement of 300cc normal saline implants. She developed immediate bilateral capsular contracture. She underwent complete capsulectomy with placement of new 300cc Mentor normal saline breast implants. Her postoperative course was complicated by a post-op hematoma (bleeding within the breast pocket) on her left side and underwent emergency surgery. She later developed recurrent bilateral breast capsular contracture. After much discussion, one of her choices was to take out the breast implants and to have a breast lift- only without the breast implants. This was the choice she took. The post-op photos show a vertical mastopexy -or “lollypop lift”- after removing the breast implants and scar tissue.
