After IPL Photo facial is it okay to use hyaluronic acid under a moisturizer to help lock i
Using Hyaluronic Acid after IPL Photo Facial
Jan 3, 2020
We advise our patients who had a photo facial, IPL, fraxel, or the newest non ablative fractional laser, Frax 1550, that using a high quality moisturizer with sunblock is important for reducing irritation after treatment. In general, the use of hyaluronic acid immediately after these minimally invasive procedures can cause some irritation in more sensitive skin types. The best advice is to ask your physician because he or she will know how deep the treatment was and know your...
Would hair grafts or the hairline lowering procedure be better for me?
Hairline Lowering vs. Hair Transplant for Women
Dec 27, 2019
In general, hairline lowering is a much more efficient method of advancing the hairline. Particularly in women where their hairline is stable, hairline lowering gives the advantage of preserving your natural hairline. The result is much more immediate and the scar is generally well hidden.
Occasionally hairline lowering is augmented by additional hair grafts, however when hair grafts are needed they tend to be a much smaller number (in the hundreds rather than thousands) and...
Do I have ptosis? How can I fix it?
Diagnosing Ptosis
Dec 27, 2019
It is difficult to determine ptosis from a single image. Examination for eyelid ptosis requires measuring the difference in upward motion of the eyelid. However, in general, puffy upper eyelids can be a condition with the medical term blepharochalasis. Repeated swelling in the upper eyelids can cause stretching of the skin resulting in excess skin. This condition can run in families and worsens with age. One must also consider the position of the brow. In general, treatment for...
Breast augmentation. Which implant would suit me best?
Choosing the size of your breast implant replacements
Dec 19, 2019
Choosing the proper size for breast implants depends on patient desires, the size of the woman's frame, as well as the measurements of the breast and chest. It is impossible for any surgeon to give accurate recommendations without doing a physical examination and precisely measuring the breasts. However we do know the following: the larger the implant, the more upper pole fullness you will get. Additionally we also know that the larger the implant, the higher risk of...
I am having a hard time deciding on size and shape and fullness and projection and choosing
Find Your Size While Avoiding Asymmetry
Dec 19, 2019
The best and safest method to determining the implant size for you is by proper measurement. This is best done in person at your consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. After measuring your chest your surgeon should recommend a few sizes that would be safe, meet your goals and for your body. With hundreds of different implant sizes, projections, widths, and volumes (cc), you should not have to worry about each of these features. You need to trust your surgeon to find what range...
Are my breasts tuberous? And if so, can they be fixed with regular augmentation with silico
Tuberous Breasts
Apr 11, 2019
Thank you for providing the photos along with your inquiry. While it is difficult to evaluate how tuberous your left breast is from the photo it is apparent you have significant asymmetry which likely will not be addressed with a breast augmentation alone. We recommend you make a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss who you can achieve more symmetry. The left breast would benefit from radial scoring of the fibrous tissue and implant while...
5 years post op BA, I feel that my implants are way to large for my torso and now I'm stuck
Breast Augmentation
Apr 11, 2019
The implants you mentioned may be too large for your frame which may also be why you have developed symmastia and "pinching" sensations. It is not unreasonable to either go back to your surgeon or seek another Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to have another consultation with re-measurements and more informed process of picking the best implant for your body. There are many great implant options that can accommodate your preferences with your body type.
Umbrella enough to prevent from damaging grafts?
Sun expoaure post FUE procedure
Apr 11, 2019
Based on your description of events we think there probably was enough UV protection from the sun even while the grafts are still "taking" to their donor site. In the future if you'll be exposed to prolonged sun exposure use a loose fitting hat to cover you head. And as always, don't forget to protect the rest of your skin, especially face, with sun screen.
How can I have a tight skin at 35?
Many options to help restore your youthful glow!
Apr 11, 2019
There are many effective non invasive treatments that can increase collagen, plump skin and tighten skin. Things like botox and fillers can be used to smooth out wrinkles and enhance different facial features. Botox can be a great preventative treatment for someone in their 20s-30s to minimize permanent wrinkles from forming such as crow’s feet, forehead lines and the lines between the brows. Fillers are also great to create for fullness in the cheeks, minimize the appearance of nasolabial f...
How can I achieve a look where contours of the implants are quite visible?
Contour and Asymmetry
Apr 3, 2019
Typically "fake" appearing breast augmentations are from implants that are large for the patients body size placed in the above the muscle position. Alternatively this is a sign of capsular contracture as well.
With regards to asymmetry or unevenness from the right breast to the left breast this can be adjusted using the proper size implant or other techniques depending on the examination of the patient. Our website has extensive information regarding size and incision. There are also many...
I want a BBL but I have a hard time swallowing pills/pain meds, are there any alternatives
Other pain medication options
Jan 22, 2019
Rest assured there are several options for people that cannot take pills. There are liquid forms of narcotic pain medication that your surgeon can prescribe. This would likely be the most easily consumed if you cannot take a pill. Otherwise crushing up pills into smaller pieces and taking them with liquid or soft food (applesauce, yogurt, etc).
Is there a possibility that the grafts were implanted dead?
3 month hair graft post op
Dec 6, 2018
You're still in the early stages of hair growth after grafting. While you may not see results at this stage there is growth happening. The results you see may not begin to surface for several more months and even up to a year. So be patient and schedule regular follow ups with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for continued observation.
Can I use conditioner 19 days after my FUE for a dry scalp?
Conditioner use ~3 weeks after FUE
Dec 6, 2018
We recommend you follow the instructions of your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon on their preferred post operative hair care, but we feel this would be reasonable so long as you are not lathering over the graft areas itself. It would be ok for the product to wash over the graft site, but just not physically manipulated. Otherwise, the non-grafted areas would be fine to resume normal conditioner use.
3 weeks post op, do they seem like they are changing ? I don’t see a difference.
A watched pot never boils
Dec 6, 2018
At this point there is still post operative swelling that this can take several weeks to resolve along with implant settling that can take months. You're still in the early phases of healing. In addition, given the pictures you posted there is different lighting, etc that may be deceiving to the eye so make sure you're looking in the same light. Be sure to also follow up with your surgeon for continued observation. Best of luck!
Can Botox Fill in Cleft Chin?
Filler is your best option
Nov 1, 2018
Botox is intended for temporary relaxation to muscles, therefore it is not a good treatment for a cleft chin. I recommend fillers. Restylane, Juvederm fillers can be injected with good result to improve a cleft chin. If you're wanting a longer lasting result there is also Bellafill Cosmetic. Surgically, a chin implant is another option.
