This active mother of 2 presented with the concerns of genetic premature aging of her jawline and neck. She wished for her jowls and submental (under the chin) tissue to be more shapely and not as heavy appearing. Examination revealed significant laxity and fullness of her jawline and neck tissue, along with slight underdevelopment of her mandible (chinbone). We decided to perform a lower facelift, necklift, and chin augmentation (with a silicone implant) in our Center under local anesthesia with oral sedation with valium. Procedure time was approximately 2 1/2 hours and she required prescription pain pills for only 2 days. Her result demonstrates an improved profile with a sharper, and less heavy appearing, jawline.
